Taurus Millenium Pro ?
« on: May 26, 2008, 07:46:00 PM »
Got a chance to buy a Tauraus Millenium Pro 9mm or .45 (another decision to make) Can anyone tell me good/bad or indifferant about Taurus pistols ???  I am thinking of using it for everyday CCW when I'm not packing my M&P 45, I have a Beretta 9mm that I also carry but both these guns are full size and I'm looking for a 3" for CCW in warmer weather. The price seems right $370.  I am leaning more towards the 9mm just from the idea of the .45 is like the energizer bunny - it keeps going, now I do have 230g JHP's in the .45 when I carry it but it still makes me wonder - how far will they go?  Any help in making my choice would be greatly appreciated.
Has anyone seen the Taurus JUDGE? Pretty amazing I looked it, it's going for $530 but most likely will not. Thanks folks great site!

I have 1 in .40 go for the .45 great pistol, small break in period on a new one, but flawless and very concealable.

i have the 24/7 pro 3" in .40 very nice gun, i was going to get the millenium but they sold it before i could and i didnt want to wait a week for it... its slightly more money but truthfully i think its a more comfortable gun with more options.  either way i think taurus is a pretty good gun either wheel or semi

I have the PT145. Long but light trigger pull. Good accuracy and 10 round magazine make it potent package.
185 grain ammo probably best due to short barrel (3 1/4 inch). Except for one bad primer round (Wolf), it is reliable.
Want to keep it. :)

Freind of mine has a Pro 9mm he has had No problems. Dharmaeye is right about the trigger, nice for a DAO but if your use to SA you might not like it, but it IS SMOOTH. Decent pistol

Thanks for all the info. regarding the Taurus Pro ....... I just need to narrow it down 9mm or .45. As I said I have both 9mm & .45 right now but I'm concerned with the penetration of the .45 as I carry in places where there are numerous people/public places, plus it's a bit less expensive to blast away with the 9mm to stay keen. Again Thanks  ;)

Brought home the PT145 PRO 3" yesterday from the toy store and sent lead down range today ;D. Must say I was pleasently suprised with the way it shot and I really liked the trigger. I think I'll keep this little bugger, handled alot better than I thought it would. Thanks for all your input

I bought the PT145 a couple of months ago and like it a lot. Mine has the DA/SA trigger with a real clean break in SA. Not a bad pull in DA either. I think you made the right choice. If you're concerned about penetration try hollow points.

Yes I really do like the pull on the DA/SA trigger and do really enjoy the PT145 and think I'll like it even more as time goes by. I have no problem when it comes to concealing for carry which is nice.. I practice with 230g FMJ's & a few JHP's but carry with all JHP's. I still wonder about penetration though ???
