I love football, so I watch.  However, yesterday was a lot of house work and other work, so it was just on in the background.

Can someone explain to me what the subliminal message was that was being sent with the flames in the lower corner of the screen, and at another time a handgun being racked?  I'm sure it was a build up to a movie or tv show they were advertising, but if you don't glue yourself to the screen you miss the message.

My point in this question is that if Daniel Defense was banned for having a sihlouette of a rifle, why was the racking of a handgun allowed?

It was a trailer for "24" with Keefer Sutherland coming back to Fox!

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ....

So, since it is Fox promoting Fox a pistol being racked is acceptable, but since it is an advertiser ...

What about the "shoot 'em up" trailers for movies that were shown?

Sorry guys, but this one really has me miffed.

As a long time Seattle fan who attended their first game ever, I watched the game and basked in their glory!!  :D

Never thought I would see the day!

Went to bed early and watched the original True Grit for the umpteenth time....never gets old.

I don't keep up with football like I did years ago..... I guess the appeal just got lost somewhere. I was glad for the Seahawks, though....when I did follow the NFL they were a team I liked, after my home state's Falcons.
And as a side note, if a bunch of Iranians got up a football team and played the Broncos, I'd root for the Iranians......... yes...I still hold a bit of hurt from Super Bowl XXXIII.  ;)

I have to watch.  Not the game, but the commercials.  I do work in TV/Video after all.

First, it's expected that Budwieser and Coca Cola have great commercials (not the Bud lite one/Swarchenager one-blah).  You can't beat the Clysdales or the I-Want-To-Teach-The-World-To-Sing genre.   Beyond those, I think the knock-it-out-of-the-park was VW with the wings and rainbows.  Well done, well delivered.   Makes me want to go look at their product.   Cheerios was in there as well.  Besides being the cutest little girl, the "puppy" tie-in cemented it with those who had watched the Puppy Bowl early.  Well played placement.   And Radio Shack, "the 80's want their store back", was also cute.  "ALF" was in that commercial.  And I got to hand it T-Mobil and T-bow for their no-contract thing.  Did make for a good connection.

All the rest of the commercials were flat and left you wondering or wanting.

And on a local note, the Ga Lottery ran one of their commercials during the local time slot at about 8pm EST which featured MY SON.   Real kick think, even if it is only local, that my son was in a Super Bowl commercial.  Of course, its just a regular commercial and they've been playing it for a week now.

Oh the game?  Sorry about that Peyton.  I think Denver now has the record for the most SB losses at 5.  Of course there are teams who would just be happy to make it to the super bowl, so give'm their due.  They just got out-played, out-coached on a given Sunday.

My son the white rapper.

Sunday was shooting, going to town for groceries, then kicking back in my sun room and finishing Chris Kyle's book. (Very good read by the way.) I read his, and Luttrel's book in the last week. Last night I started Rawles Founders.

Which one of Chris Kyle's did you read?  I was at the airport bookstore and was going to pick one up.  They were out of Luttrel's, so I spotted Chris' book, and another, and another ... Between the three I couldn't make up my mind, and then I remembered I needed to get on the bird  :-[

They all looked interesting.
