Whilst musing on policitical correctness and self-examining it's origins and nature it occurred to me that I have not seen a post on what may drive political correctness. Could it be self exhaultation? That is to say, "See, I am a good person because I care." which, translated, means, "I am a better person because I care more than you."
Political correctness seems to have its origins in a competetion amongst emotionally damaged and emotionally needy people who have low self-esteem. Not entirely, of course, as there are in my estimation another facet of those who use political correctness to gain stature and power from the emotionally damaged. That political capital is then exploited to support a craving for dictatorial-like power to lord over those of proper discernment and is then shared, vicariously, to those who thrive on and supply political correctness.
Is it praise that an individual seeks when expressing those caring, thoughtful, and intellectually bankrupt statements of political correctness? Is that praise internalized into perverted self-esteem to fuel fundamentally dishonest and impractical thinking which is being converted into a self-perceived and peer acknowledged controlling power?
Could these be fundamental tenants supporting political correctness?
