Nice looking gun.  I too like smaller (well, shorter barrel guns).  I think they look better and for some unknown reason I seem to shoot them better.

I keep looking at the CZ 99 compact. https://www.classicfirearms.com/cz9999comp

Nice pistol, I've like the lines of the Rami since it came out - well done.
Best Wishes, Mike.

The CZ 99 does look nice, and I think that they look a little bigger in the pictures than they really are...except for the 97B- the big 45. That's actually bigger than it looks in pictures. Still also a real nice gun.

The Rami looks are what first attracted me. It shoots better with the bigger mag but it's sexy as hell with that smaller mag.

The 99 is about 1 inch longer overall and about  1/2 lb heavier (all steel frame).  Chet has a full size 99 and it is nice.  The grip fits my hand well.  It comes with 15 round mags but you can get 18 rounders that still fit flush with the bottom of the grip.

I especially like that it has simple controls.  Just a decocker and a slide stop.

If your trigger is anything like the one on the 99 you shouldn't have any problems.  Being DA/SA yes, after the first (DA) pull there will be slack to take up but it is very light and you can easily find the break point for the SA.

Personally I like DA/SA as it makes more accurate shooting easier for the 2nd and following rounds as you don't have to try and stack a trigger to the break point.  It just is there.

Have NOT seen that one, but wouldn't that just be a re-labeled Dan Wesson?

On the Rami, I really like the way it shoots, except for the actual trigger. It comes down and hooks forward. When you're throwing a hundred rounds or more it gives you a little irritation point on the trigger finger. I think the hook is too sharp.
I've thought of milling it but I'm just going to leave it for awhile...not high on my "honey-do list".

Most likely just a cheaper Mil-Spec version, without all the bells and whistles. CZ has such a big following, it will sell based on that alone.

It's hard for me to get excited about another 1911 A1 no matter who makes it.

I don't care who makes them.... The FU*#ING slide stop still goes in the same way!

Jaybet, try this trigger, it's the "original" CZ 85 combat trigger (see link below from CZ Custom Shop):

http://czcustom.com/CZ85Combattrigger.aspx

It is not the so called "recurve" trigger that comes on your RAMI and most new CZ's.  It should fix this problem with the bottom of your trigger finger.  There are also posts about this on the CZ forums.  It's a pretty cheap and easy fix that makes a big difference in comfort and it is a CZ factory/OEM part.  Hope this helps.
