She actually believes this and it is because one of the core beliefs of progressives and liberals is that all people are fundamentally good.    If every one is fed, clothed, housed and feels secure then there won't be any crime, war, famine or terror.  Everyone will be happy according to their belief.  While many may not have verbalized it in the way Harf did, if you look behind their proposals you will see this is fundamental foundation of their ideas.

So if these people just had jobs, food, clothing and felt secure from the mean old US all this war stuff would just go away.

Sounds somewhat like our War on Poverty.  Trillions of dollars have be spent since the mid to late Sixties and we still have millions on government programs that just encourages generational dependency.

The best thing they could do would be to cut the bs with being a business owner.  That would create more jobs then anything else.   When it costs you 50% of what you pay your employees on top if what you pay them, its hard to justify hiring new people.

If they just cut that in half it would mean a 25% increase employment.  Or people earning more.   Both of which help.
I always break all the clay pigeons,  some times its even with lead.

Exactly, the only effective way to fight poverty is to provide jobs to those who want to work and let those who don't starve.
The whole reason churches are tax exempt is because they were responsible for tending those who could not work, charity is their job, not the Govt's.
Another benefit of increased employment is that Govt can charge a lower tax rate to more people and increase what they bring in, lightening the burden by spreading it out over a wider population.

Politicians have the notion that they have to DO something to make things better.  Like jobs.

Politicians think they need to fund job creation schemes when what they really need to do is clear the obstacles so the market can grow and create all the jobs needed.

Government should get out of the way and keep others out of the way.

Like interstate trade.  The governments job is to facilitate it..mediate between the state to keep it flowing freely, not use that authority to limit and restrict that trade.

Politicians need to realize they are servants of the citizens, not the masters.   

Might even be better if EVERY citizen remembered that too

Hey azzhole, you WON the election, your job isn't based on "productivity".


        All America's problems are based on 4 major flaws in the Constitution.
#1 The assumption that offices would be sought by "honorable men of good character" concerned with the best interests of the country.
#2 The assumption that voters would inform themselves and vote for what was best for the country.
#3 Not making the "Property requirement" a specific qualification for voting therefore depriving the producers of their control over the use of their tax dollars and placing control of the nations wealth in the hands of those who do not generate any of it.
#4 Structuring the amendments as a "bill of rights" when it would have been more effective as a bill of obligations.
 (EXAMPLES, The people have the "right" of a Free Press, should be an obligation to be truthful Brian Williams and any anti gunner comes to mind, 2nd Amendment says "A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed." It SHOULD read "A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the obligation of the people to keep and bear arms shall be enforced". )

"These United States", were never intended to be a "democracy". Democracy is nothing more than a fancy name for mob rule. Among the first steps of the new Republic, were those suppressing the rabble, reimplementing the property requirement and suppressing movements such as Shay's rebellion in Mass, and the Whiskey rebellion in Va.
Democracy in action has never worked , which is why the ancient Greeks abandoned it in favor of "tyranny".
The Founders knew democracy was a failure which is why they tried to structure a Constitutional Republic where the State had specified Powers and obligations and the people had specific unalienable rights. They knew it would not be perfect, they just tried to screw as few people as possible while benefiting the majority.
