Real guns are made or metal. Toys are made of plastic. I have one of the M1911 Mech-Tech Carbine Conversion Units for my Para P14-45. It's like the one pictured with a Glock, but the 1911 CCU was the original. The one for a Glock was more of an afterthought, years later, like they may as well make that one too. And Glock still doesn't make a rifle as far as I know of.

One of the many things I have had to bitch about with the Glock company:

I wasn't serious about the real guns are metal comment, but I do like the looks of the Robar Not-A-Glock better. I don't know anyone using the alloy CCF Raceframe so I don't know how good it is. Alloy may or may not be better than plastic. I don't think it expands and contratcts as much with temperature changes. What I really want is an 18-shot Para USA 9x19mm re-chambered to 9x23mm, but would buy another brand if it was available. A little 3/8" mag extension would brig it up to 20 rounds, enough to stop a whole gang of bad guys. The 9x23mm has true .357 Magnum ballistics and is effective at longer ranges than most other pistol rounds. If Glock wanted to make something new they could try making the first double-column 9x23mm. That would give me an excuse to buy one.

Jumbo, why not go with a Para in .38 Super?

Jumbo, why not go with a Para in .38 Super?

Simple. The 9x23mm has 35-40% more muzzle energy than a .38 Super +P. I can get better performance out of .45 ACP +Ps than .38 Supers. I want something more powerful than a .45, not the same power with a small bullet.

Plus I'm prejudiced against semi-rimmed cases. No .38 Super or .220 Swift for me, thank you. They should either put a rim on a case or not, just make up their minds and not make it semi-rimmed. I see no advantage to them, only disadvantages.

Big heavy bullets at moderate speed, will beat small bullets at high velocity all the time.   Comparisons always seem to go, equal to or close to .45ACP or .357Mag velocity or power not the other way around.
