I agree with jaybeth.  Words have power.  We want someone like we had, so why not say that we will look at and "consider" nominees?  Doesn't mean we will approve or even vote on, but it is more civil and sends a coperative message.

Who do you expect to score points with by "being cooperative" with the blood enemies of everything Western civilization is based on ?
Are you actually naive enough to think the liberal propaganda organs that pass as modern media will report positively on it ?

Exactly. If the Republicans do anything other than rubber stamp Obama's nomination without uttering a single word, they'll be called names and demeaned by the press. So piss on all of them right out of the starting gate. Trump has shown they can be called every name in the book, and the Republicans won't lose an ounce of support. Hell, they'll probably gain it, much like Trump has. They need to come out swinging like there is no tomorrow.

Keep in mind that right now Barak Obama is a far worse threat to the well being of this country, than Vladimir Putin could ever hope to be. He should be treated as such.

I agree guys.  We should just keep acting like jerks and ass holes and expect things to change.  I'm not saying we needs to give up our principles, buy it is time for someone to act like a mature adult.

The Republicans have been acting "mature", and trying to remain civil with these ass wipe Democrats for how long now? And where has it gotten them? The hell with civility. I'm sick and tired of these people. The liberal socialists are a far worse enemy to the United States, than any foreign leader is... Including Putin. As far as I'm concerned, if they got shot it would be doing America a great service. Who would miss Obama, Clinton, or Pelosi? I would like the Flu. I'll vote for Trump based on the fact he calls them exactly what they are. And judging from his poll numbers I'm not alone.

As far as their motivations I'm thinking BillT might be onto something. Maybe they just said, "Hey, it has worked great for Trump, so 'F*** you, Obama'". The big O has certainly crapped on them enough to give them incentive. Maybe it IS all over...put up or shut up.

Some people never learn.
We ave been reasonable, and civil to these pieces of shit for 50 years and have continuous lot ground.
The reason Trump is doing so well is because he has quit the BS and says what he thinks and damn the consequences.

Nowhere have I said give in.  What I am saying is shut up, and act like adults.  And Tom, we have not been civil for several years.  Neither have they, but they know how to do it in a way that makes us look like idiots - Look at how they handled the entire birth certificate situation.  They didn't do anything except verbally deny and let our rants make us look stupid.  To this day there is no proof Pres. BHO is legally in office, but don't dare even question it, because we handled it poorly.

We need to remember that the President has the responsibility to lead, and he has the right to make a nomination.  Let the system work!  This is the same system we accuse them of ignoring, so why should we deny the right when they actually want to follow it.  Once the nomination is made, we can go through the same process and do what is right with the nomination.

Stop and think for just a moment what this does for the image of conservatives.  When I teach hunter education I use the national statistics: 11% of the population is anti-hunting, 10% is pro-hunting, and the other 89% are neutral.  How we act determines where the neutral are next time they are exposed to a hunter and hunting.  What does the immature ranting and blind statement that we will obstruct the Constitutional process do to the attitudes of the "89%" in this matter?

Quite frankly, I am fed up with the pre-school brats who can't play in the sandbox.  Sit down and do you jobs within the system, and quit running around like frat boys at a kegger bragging about how big and tough they are.  Think of the worst case in this one:  1.  We stop Pres. BHO cold; 2.  We offend people on both sides;  3.  We are faced with the reality that the DFL are much better communicators than the GOP (while we were in business, economics, and political science classes, they were taking speech, debate, and theater, and learning how to communicate in effective ways), and they will make us look like idiots (birthers all over again);  4.  We could lose vital positions in the election; and 5.  Hillary Dillary will come up with someone beyond your worst nightmare ... and they will be confirmed.

Remain calm, act civil, work the system, and live to play on our field next January*.

*We are demanding a wait until January anyway, so why not do it in a civil manor that leaves a good taste in the mouths of the voter making the choices in November?
