Even if you are not a ham and have a shortwave radio, trying to find and listen in to confirm a location will be educational from the standpoint of actually operating your receiver (sort of like what are you going to do when TEOTWAWKI comes around training & practice).
Here's a source to help you find the operating stations and their frequency:
http://www.dxsummit.fi/DxSpots.aspx . Ham operators will, upon hearing or making contact, go the that website and input the callsign and the frequency. And, you can use the filters and input the callsigns (W6A, W6B, etc.) so that it only shows those callsigns you are interested in as they appear on that website.
