I look at this from a police officers point.
I catch a bank robber in the process of robbing a bank because of confidential tip. So I let him go because he or she is stupid so they claim. I then find and prosecute the confidential informant for telling me that the bad guy was going to rob the bank. Correct me if I am wrong is this how it is playing out.
