You guys really shouldn't be having all this trouble with knowing when you're getting a USPS delivery. I just ordered a billet stainless steel magazine baseplate for my polished stainless steel CZ-75. I got a notice with a Tracking Number from USPS Priority Mail. I filled out an online form with my first name and E-Mail address, and they will send me E-Mail updates informing me location every step of the way, along with when to expect delivery. That's every bit as good as anything I get from either Fed Ex or UPS.

No Bill, we shouldn't be having all this trouble. That's why it pisses me off. I signed up for every email notification available from USPS. Monday they said where my package was leaving from. But Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday they only said it was in transit. The expected delivery day was Wednesday. They told me that Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and even on Thursday. Then they said it was delayed, but didn't say how long, and never updated the delivery date. Friday they told me again that it's in transit, then said it's there and on the way to me. I must have had 2 dozen emails from them for this package, but still didn't have an updated delivery date until it was on the truck and headed to my neighborhood. That's nowhere near as good as UPS.

Now I'm signed up for Informed Delivery from the post office. As your mail is sorted it captures a black and white picture of each letter. Now get I emails telling me what should be in my mailbox that day. Yesterday I got one of the 4 things that I was supposed to get. I'm missing a credit card statement, plan information about my health insurance, and coupons that would probably save me at least a few bucks. Today I was supposed to get one more piece of mail from my health insurance provider, but I didn't get any mail at all. Just in the last 2 days I'm missing 3 very important letters, and some coupons. Now it thinks it's already Sunday and telling me I don't have any mail today.

P.S. UPS sends me emails telling me where my packages actually are, instead of just saying they're somewhere between North Carolina and here, or somewhere between New Jersey and here, etc.

Sounds to me, Frank, that you have a terrible local postal office in the Flint area.

Ours here ain’t too bad.  I sent something to NH on a Saturday and it arrived the following Monday.

Ours here ain’t too bad.  I sent something to NH on a Saturday and it arrived the following Monday.

We have several post offices in and around Flint, but I think everything goes to the main post office first. My mail seems to come straight from there. It's where I have to go if I need to pick up a package. The problem with getting my packages lately is getting them to the post office in Flint. And there's no telling where my missing mail is. It could all be in my box Monday. Just because they scanned it doesn't mean they were in the mood to give it to me.

When the post office charges extra for 2-day shipping it may take all week, or even 2 weeks. But if you pay UPS for 2-day shipping it will be there in 2 days. UPS while charging only for regular ground shipping ships all kinds of things halfway across the country in 3 days, almost every time. No wondering for 2 weeks where the heck it is like with me with the post office. If it's shipping from nearby, like from Ohio to Michigan, UPS has gotten my packages here in 2 days with no extra shipping charges. Less than 2 whole days actually, while the post office took a whole week to ship that one package of mine 80 miles.

I just received this from USPS:

"Your item arrived at our SEATTLE WA DISTRIBUTION CENTER ANNEX origin facility on February 10, 2018 at 9:14 pm. The item is currently in transit to the destination. Expected Delivery By 12 Feb By 8:00pm."

It took DHL from the 9th until today to get my package to the post office, but they got it to me today. USPS did alright, but there were no shipping updates at all for Saturday, Sunday, or Monday. I also got all the mail that was missing the last few days, but that's all I'm getting. The mailman left a note that my mail will be stopped because I haven't shoveled my sidewalk.

I have to call the post office and see when I can pick up my mail since I'm only able to shovel for a moment before it gets too painful to finish. I could see if my ATV will start and plow the sidewalk if it does. But it hurts if I have to pull start it, and if I want to charge the battery I have to leave my back door open far enough to run an extension cord out. I would still have to shovel by hand from the sidewalk to my front porch but that's not too bad.

The only problem I have with USPS is I don't get delivery status.

Packages arrive timely, but I cannot track them...

BillT seems tro get the tracking info, but maybe he is getting shopped at a higher class than I get.

If you have an account at usps.com it's easy to ask for notifications, but that doesn't mean you'll get them.

UPS shipped 2 packages to me Wednesday, one in the wee hours of the morning and one at night, from 2 different cities in New Jersey. They both got here this afternoon, one by way of Illinois and the other through Ohio. One of them took less than 42 hours. Lets see the USPS ship packages that far in 2 days without charging anything above basic shipping prices.

P.S. The UPS guy rang the doorbell to let me know my packages were on the back porch. I heard his truck on the street when he pulled up. I looked out the window and saw the truck, then headed for the door. He was gone before I got the door open.

Well, I've always been honest with all you guys in the past, so I'm not going to change now. I had my first issue with USPS "2-Day" Priority Mail. It was finally delivered after multiple delays, and 5 days late. What's weird is it was in a large cardboard envelope. And it was in perfect shape. It took 3 days to get from L.A. to Phoenix. (I can drive it in less than 8 hours). It was originally sent from around the Seattle Washington area I believe. (Auburn to be exact).

USPS sent me a total of no less than 11 "updates". Several of them were the same one's sent over and over. But today it finally came up, "Out For Delivery", and then, "Delivered". So I went to the mailbox, and there it was. And for anyone who wonders what it was, it was a Polished Stainless Steel Magazine Baseplate for my Polished Stainless Steel CZ-75. It's just like this one, and looks terrific!
