Well, I just had good luck with another USPS Priority Mail Delivery. I ordered some magazines from Greg Cote out of Jacksonville, Florida. He shipped them out on the 1st, and they just arrived a few minutes ago. The package was in perfect condition, as were the magazines.

If anyone ever needs magazines, he has a good stock of them at great prices. And his shipping is fast and top notch.

Just to compare, I ordered 12, 1911 .45 magazines from Sarco out of Pennsylvania at the same time I ordered from Greg Cote, and they haven't even shipped yet.

He has Para Ordnance P14 14 round .45 ACP magazines made by MEC-GAR for $24.95. I haven't bought any of those for a long time but it sounds like a reasonable price. He says they're also great in the Springfield 1911A2 double stack and the Rock Island Armory .45 1911 A2 Hi Cap wide body. I knew the RIA mags looked just like Para Ordnance mags but didn't know if they were interchangeable.

I wonder how long it would take to get a package by USPS if it wasn't Priority Mail?

Cool source Bill.  I just bought a Canik last week and it came with only two mags.  I looked a few places but I could find no sources.  They have them for $30....cool beans dude.

So Bill what other SECRET sources like this for firearms and parts do you have??

Hhmmm?

Especially since I got some of those cool CZ mag floor plates.  You are hitting it out of the park.

And oh, about UPS.  I try to avoid business with them and use FEDEX and whoever else when I can.  I bought a "vintage" CB for $600 (today's $$$$'s) a some years ago.  One of the idiots in OKC ran over the radio and destroyed it.  The mic was worth $5 and the side speaker was worth $25 so...about $30 was for the supporting mic and exterior speaker...guess what.  I got 1/3 of the insured value only.

What jerks.  I have a long memory and I ship a lot of stuff or have a lot shipped to me for business....used to anyway.  I've probably diverted $6,000-$9,000 in shipping to other vendors in the intervening years....and intend to continue doing so until such time as I get a check for my loss from UPS.

He's not the absolute cheapest. But he is very reasonable. And he has most all of what he advertises in stock. He ships within hours, and you get E-Mails and tracking numbers on your order all the way until delivery. I like that. I'll gladly pay a few bucks more for that kind of service.

I think both First Class and Priority Mail go by air from major destination to major destination. In this case it was Jacksonville, Florida to Phoenix, Arizona. After that I think the Priority Mail shipments are expedited a little quicker to the local post office, and processed through to actual delivery faster. As opposed to First Class that might absorb an extra day or two going through that process. Especially during busy times.

I think my last Priority Mail package somehow got lost in the shuffle, and ended up going by ground all the way. Because there is no way it would take 3 days to travel from L.A. to Phoenix. Unless they were shipping it via. 20 Mule Team along with the Borax.

Well, as I mentioned I ordered some 1911, .45 ACP magazines from Sarco. They've been advertising these heavily in Shotgun News, and they go for only $7.90 each if you buy 10 or more. So I've got a dozen of them coming. I'll keep you informed as to how long it takes to get them, and how well they work. I'm sure they'll be fine for range magazines. As I mentioned, I ordered them at the same time I ordered the magazines from Greg Cote. And those are already in my guns, and Sarco has yet to ship them. So I'll let you know how it goes.

I was very surprised to see this listed at Sarco: M8 .50cal Spotting Rifle 20 round magazine. The M8C .50 caliber spotting rifle was attached to an M40 106mm recoilless rifle. Here's a description of the ammo it used. http://cartridgecollectors.org/cmo/cmo08dec.htm

You may be right. They may very well be, "Out Of Stock". In spite of the fact they say they're, "Currently Available".  The reason I say that is because I ordered them on the 1st, and they still haven't shipped yet. That, plus the fact they haven't banged my credit card yet for the purchase. So they might be waiting for more.

I really don't like when places do that. They don't want to risk losing the order by displaying, "Out Of Stock". But people aren't stupid. It shouldn't take a week to box up and ship a dozen magazines. Especially when guy's like Greg Cote do it within a couple of hours after receiving your order. I'll wait only because they haven't charged me yet. And also because Sarco produces these magazines themselves on their own tooling. So that being the case, they should become available quickly. We'll see.
