Yesterday I baked a bag of Hot Ones Buffalo Style Chicken Bites and put the whole packet of Hot Ones Original Buffalo Style Hot Sauce on them. I thought about putting half the packet on yesterday and the other half today, then decided to use it all and regretted it. It was too hot for me and made my nose and eyes run, so today when I baked the other bag of chicken, I put the sauce packet in the fridge to use some other time. I covered it with Smitty's Beard Sauce instead and it was good. I used most of the bottle of sauce then drank the rest when I was done with the chicken. Then I rinsed the bottle out with Dr. Pepper and drank it so I didn't waste a drop. It safe to say I really like that sauce. When I have plain chicken I can put the Hot Ones Buffalo Sauce on them, but won't be using a lot of it at a time.

Lunch today was fresh jalapeno and cheese deer sausage.
Youngest son made a 40# batch yesterday for us and naturally I had to do some quality control.

Supper was a cubed steak sammich.

Snausages! ;)

I had some caramel corn. Now I'm going to have some ice cold "Artisan" Macaroni & Cheese. It's made with white cheddar and topped with bread crumbs, and I put 6 slices of Gouda on top before I baked it. I did the same thing with a Sausage & Egg Breakfast Skillet. They bake at the same temperature so I put both on one of my new aluminum trays and stuck them in the oven. The mac & cheese took 20 or 30 minutes less time to bake.

We cooked for a friend's daughter's wedding Saturday.
Chicken breast seasoned with Italian seasonings topped with cream of mushroom gravy and mozzarella cheese...sides were mashed taters with mushroom gravy and green beans and yeast rolls.
I'm telling you, if you want tasty, juicy chicken (or turkey) you need to dry brine it overnight.

Last night we got 6" of snow (first time in 52 years) so we built a couple of pots of Brunswick stew today.
What we don't eat these next few days will go in the freezer.... Next to 100# of venison.

I had some chicken gizzards and hot sauce earlier today. This new place has Small, Large and Family size on the menu. I ordered the family size but they only had enough for a small order. And that was good news. They were the toughest gizzards I ever had in my life. A while ago I ate a couple of slices of Christstollen with marzipan filling, and a small bag of sweet potato chips, with a Hammond's Bourbon Pecan Pie chocolate bar for dessert. All washed down with 2 bottles of caramel apple soda. I bought 18 different chocolate bars yesterday. Half of them Hammond's, and half Ritter Sport bars like I used to get in Germany.

Now I'm ready to pop the top on a Huckleberry soda and open a box of Cheddar and Scallion cheese sticks. I tried some Pumpkin Spice Mini Moon Pies yesterday. The cookies were hard and crunchy, and the marshmallow was really tough. They're supposed to be good for another 5 weeks, so someone will be hearing about it.

I'm eating COASTAL CRAB BOIL flavor Carolina Kettle Chips, and  Zestos - The original 1970's pub-style tortilla chip. One or 2 potato chips then a tortilla chip or 2. The potato chips are kind of spicy and super salty. Eating Old Bay Classic Seafood Seasoning straight from the container may taste about the same. The Zestos Seasoned Tortilla Chips are sweet, salty & spicy. I can't believe they quit making them and I got one of the last bags made last month. I had them before but won't be able to have them again. The Koeze company is 115 years old and still makes other things.

Dear Zestos Fans

Thank you for being a loyal fan of Zestos Seasoned Tortilla Chips!

It is with a heavy heart that we must inform you that, as of December 2024, we will no longer be producing our sweet, salt & spice seasoned tortilla chips. We hope to bring you more one-of-a-kind, irresistible salty snacks in the future! Until then, stay groovy.

Yours in delicious flavor,
The Zestos Brand Team

From the bag:

In the 1970's, Koeze Company's 3rd generation owner, Scott Koeze, discovered his love of seasoned tortilla chips at local pubs around West Michigan. The sweet, salty and spice flavor was like nothing he had ever tasted. He loved them so much, he vowed to one day launch a seasoned tortilla chip under the Koeze brand. Forty-five years later, Jeff Koeze honors his father's memory by introducing Zestos: Our take on the original pub-style tortilla chip. Perfectly seasoned and satisfyingly crunchy, these pub-style chips are delicious alone or as a plate of loaded nachos. No matter how you enjoy them, we know this: After one bite of Zestos, you'll be thirsty for more.

Pizza left over from breakfast/lunch. Yesterday I realized that just because my microwave broke doesn't mean I have to eat everything ice cold. I set my toaster over to the dough proofing setting, turned the heat all the way up to 140 degrees, and set the timer for the minimum of 5 minutes. It wasn't warmed up all the way but it took the chill off. When I did the same thing with a slice of thin crust pizza yesterday it was hot.
