Twas a simple evening, but Sunday evenings usually are.

Went to the freezer the other day and pulled out a package of smoked pork loin.  Cubed it, threw it in some hot lard, add a bunch of onion and garlic, and serve with some Frank's Red Hot.

Excellent Minnesota pork, just the right rub, and the hickory was perfect with the extras.  This batch came out perfect, but it is hard to screw up great meat.
If I appear taller than other men it is because I am standing on the shoulders of others.

Pineapple upside-down cake. Breakfast was chicken asada with cilantro lime rice. #MexicanMonday ::) Lunch wasn't worth mentioning.

A big jar of five bean salad with several ounces of Monterrey Jack cheese on the side. Three bean salad is okay, and four bean salad is good, but five bean salad? I'm not sure I deserve anything that good.

"I expect perdition, I always have. I keep this building at my back, and several guns handy, in case perdition arrives in a form that's susceptible to bullets. I expect it will come in the disease form, though. I'm susceptible to diseases, and you can't shoot a damned disease." ~ Judge Roy Bean, Streets of Laredo

For the Patriots of this country, the Constitution is second only to the Bible for most. For those who love this country, but do not share my personal beliefs, it is their Bible. To them nothing comes before the Constitution of these United States of America. For this we are all labeled potential terrorists. ~ Dean Garrison

That's what really matters.

You can't see them in your own posts, so you can't keep liking yourself no matter how much you like yourself. :D

ETA: I'm full of Lucky Charms and thinking about going back to bed soon. I sleep a couple of hours whenever, eat whatever, whenever, sleep again, eat again. Repeat as necessary. I especially don't care when I go to bed on the weekends because I don't have any appointments to go to. And since there's no mail today, I don't even have to go outside. The only thing I have to do is take a shower when I get back up. My lawn really needs mowing again but they said thunderstorms and showers today and chance of flurries in the morning. WTF? It's a good thing tulips are tough because mine bloomed last month. I had grape hyacinths right in the middle of the front yard too, until I mowed.
