Life isn't always a bowl of cherries. Sometimes it's two!! After I washed and drained two pounds of red cherries I put them in two bowls with paper towels in the bottom. Then I ate a whole bowlful of cherries. I'm so full of antioxidants I'm not at all worried about rusting, even if I go out in a thunderstorm. :D I also got plenty of vitamin C, a boost of fiber, and the anti-inflammatory compounds in them really seem to have reduced the pain my neck and shoulder which were really bad today. Something cut the pain way back and it's not drugs or alcohol.

But I'm really hungry again and left a bowl of jalapeno cream cheese Olive Salsa out for over a half hour to soften up. Time for chips and salsa. Yesterday I had tortilla chips and Mexican Street Corn dip. I liked it well enough to eat enough for a small party in two sittings. Yesterday I remembered about some Mexican street corn flavored popcorn I had once. I think I got it at Tractor Supply Company and it was really good. So I've had at least 2 or 3 Mexican street corn style/flavor items, but never the actual thing. Earlier I remembered how my friends were always watching Sesame Street when they were supposed to be getting ready for school so we could all walk to school together. The next thing I know, I have the theme song running though my mind but they're singing, "Can you tell me how to get, how to get to Mexican Street?"

BTW, I saw my neurologist yesterday. He didn't say my brain is broken, but today my psychiatrist did. Not really, but my short-term memory is so bad the neurologist excused me from jury duty. I didn't have to ask any of my other doctors if they thought I was physically or mentally up to the challenge of sitting there all day, but I know what my psychiatrist would say. I thought I missed an appointment with the neurologist 12 days earlier, but now I think went in for an EEG earlier so it would leave the week free for the 4th of July vacation I didn't go on. That reminds, I need a new helmet. One with lots of padding. Can you tell me how to get, how to get to Mexican Street? I hope that's not stuck in my head when I get up tomorrow for my 3rd doctor's appointment in 3 days.

I'm eating my last slice of New York style cheesecake topped with cherry compote I made an hour ago from the last of my cherries. I would have cooked the cherries down in brandy but haven't had any brandy in years. I'm out of rum too so I used Jim Beam and a pinch of cinnamon for flavor. I took the cherries out and cooked the sauce a couple more minutes to thicken up a bit then stirred them back in. I thought about taking pics but I'd rather eat it than look at it. The red cherries looked like black cherries that weren't ripe yet. They were red inside and kind of tart. Maybe that's what they were  but now they look like plums. Little wild plums, stewed and piled high on my cheesecake. Gotta eat now. Bye.

I had 2 peppers of unknown variety, filled with Havarti cheese and microwaved for 1 minute. It looks like 1/2 minute would have sufficed, since Havarti melts so easily. They were juicy, creamy, salty, semi-cooked, but still crispy and delicious. I scraped the cheese off the plate with the same spoon I used to clean out the peppers, so it didn't go to waste. The peppers taste pretty much like green peppers, but since they looked different I ate them a different way. I had 3 fat (inch and a half) ripe cherry tomatoes with them. Everything came out of my friends' garden over the weekend. The peppers were from a variety pack of seeds that also contained banana peppers, bell peppers, cayenne, and jalapenos. I think they look like Hungarian wax peppers but don't know why they aren't hot. They taste like a jalapeno with no heat, or a green bell pepper.

I have an ear of peaches and cream corn that I'm going to microwave now and eat with lots of butter and some soul seasoning. I have a bag full of apples I need to peel and make applesauce out of too, but don't know if I'll ever get around to it. My friend took a truckload of apples up to his cabin over the weekend. He's not baiting deer because that would be illegal. He's just cleaning up his yard. He left his wife at home to do all the gardening and everything else. Smart man.

When life hands you apples, make Margaritas! Ole!, which I believe is Spanish for take that b*****s! Some things have been going wrong the last few days, just like the previous 61 years (it started before I was even born). But I'm stating to feel better now. Or at least feel less. And that really helps. I'm living proof that a human being can live all day on kimchi, sharp cheddar cheese, various types of alcohol, and the occosianal handful of bitesize candy bars. I'm now able to to report that I don't seem to have sufferered any PERMANENT bodily harm, but I've been putting my bathroom though pure hell all day. That reminds me I need to take a new jar candle in the bathroom the next time I go in there. The last one finally gave it's last bit of scent in vain.

I had to go refill my tumbler with LIQS premixed margrita. I discovered the back of the bottle has built-in gripping areas like a lot of them do. . I downloaded this page when I sat back down that says, "10 wine cocktails in every bottle" if I read it right. It looks like it took half a bottle to fill my glass twice, and the bottle is 2/5 gallon metric equivalent, whatever the h*** that is, so one glassful is 1/2 a fifth by my reckoning. Someone PLEASE confirm or deny my logic there, because I'm surely impaired at this point. I had rum and Coke earlier, then when the 2L of Coke Zero Sugar was empty, I had a bourbon with (NEW!) Reed's Ginger Ale, sugar free, then popped the top and went to Margaritaville. I have a bottle of strawbwrry margaritas too, that I will probably take up north this weekend to share with friends, IF I EVER MAKE IT.

If you want hard lemonade, don't buy ANY brand of hard lemonade. It's probably just malt liquor, AKA beer without hops, with lemon flavor anyway. IF you want REAL hard lemonade, Make Franks' Hard Lemonade. Forget about Mike's. Get a bottle of Everclear, or Crystal Clrear, it doesn't matter what brand it is as long as it's 190 proof PGA, Pure Grain Alcohol. That's as strong as you can concentrate alcohol without using acid to burn off the excess oxygen molecules, or however that works. That why you never drink the alcohol the army uses to clean the mirrors and prisms and stuff inside a laser rangefinder of an M60A3 or M! series tank. I believe they use either H2SO4 or HCl to (absorb, burn off, whatever) the excess oxygen, but even without mind numbing amounts of alcohol and prescription drugs, 40 years was a LONG time ago for some of us to remember stuff,, so cut me some slack isf the details are fuzzier than a baby bunny's butt.

Anyway, if you want some hard lemonade don't be a schmuck and buy pre-mixed, ready-to-drink cocktails, etc. Buy a bottle of Everclear and a few bottles of Minute Made, Country Time, or whatever kind of pre-made lemonade you can find at the grocery store. There are a LOT of online store who wil ship you stuff if you think it's legal in your state. If you live in their state and you can't buy over-proof liquor like 151 rum, too bad, but if you live anywhere else, ignorance of the law is the heart of commerce. If that's not a famous saying maybe it will be sometime after I die. Time to grab a big candle in a jar and another drink. I don't think I'\ll eat anything but pills, but I will go to bed tonight.

Smoked pork and bison jalapeno-cheddar bratwurst, no bun or condiments. Ate it while I typed. Tasty. Washed down with zero sugar sweet tea. It's sweetened with sucralose, and doesn't taste artificial. Also good.

I finally finished that bottle of strawberry margarita. The regular margarita was good. I'll buy it again if I happen to see it. But the strawberry margarita just tastes wrong to me. Like someone tried to make a strawberry daiquiri and things went horribly awry.

Besides Frank's hard lemonade, I made my own version of German Apfelkorn before too. Apfel = apple and Korn = grain = wheat spirit. Apple juice mixed with grain alcohol = apple schnapps. First popularized by German universities in the early 1970s, a delicious mix of apple juice and grain spirit (korn), quickly became the party starter of choice. Soon the delicious Apfelkorn cocktail was introduced as a premix in a variety of bottle sizes. The Schoenauer Distillery, situated close to one of Germany's best known fruit growing areas, was among the first to offer Apfelkorn to retailers and bars. It's 21% alcohol and goes down smoothly. Berentzen Apfelkorn is only 20% alcohol and is also super popular. Some drunk German frat boys may have invented Apfelkorn, but that doesn't mean it's not really delicious. I need to see where I can order some Everclear from. The last place I bought it from no longer carried it when I looked again.

Baked VooDoo chicken with rice and butter-beans.

Today I took my fiancé to a little Vietnamese restaurant called PHO Whittier. It’s a local spot I haven’t been to in years. Tran the own recognized me, I couldn’t believe it. Its been about 10 years since I’ve eaten there. The pho was outstanding and the the grilled pork banh mi was fire. Mr. Tran lectured me on not coming in sooner but was very happy that I’ve found the love of my life. Omg the fresh spring rolls 🔥

I had a dozen Rummy Bears. They're gummy bears that have been soaking in rum for the better part of a week, swelled up and absorbed a LOT alcohol. My guess would be 3 times their own weight or more. I have some in white rum, Admiral Nelson's Silver, and some in dark rum, Bacardi Gold. The Rummy Bears in dark rum taste better IMO. You can do the same thing with vodka if you don't like rum, and you end up more or less with jello shots in the shape of bears.

Now it's time for some crappy canned chili, no beans, topped with some crispy fried onions, and maybe some smoked Swiss cheese. It turns out I still don't much care for Swiss, even when it's smoked, but it's good in certain types of sandwiches, like Reubens, where it's a minor ingredient. I wouldn't like it at all as a grilled cheese sandwich.
