I bought a hand of almost perfectly ripe bananas for 50 cents. I just ate 1 and the other 4 are hanging from the kitchen ceiling. Two of them that aren't quite ready will be tomorrow, and the other 2 are good now. They may not make it through the night. You don't see 10 cent bananas every day, at least I don't. When I was much younger I remember that my mom wouldn't buy bananas if they were more than 11 cents a pound. So we went without them most of the time. I just checked the price at Kroger and they're $0.49 / lb, about 21 cents each. At Meijer they're $0.50 / lb, about 25 cents each.

I had a whole heaping helping of hush puppies. Hooray! I like them with ketchup but don't have regular ketchup. The chipotle flavored ketchup I have is on the hot side for the amount of ketchup I use, so I mixed it half and half with pickle flavored ketchup. The combination tasted good together. It was savory, sweet, hot, and tangy, all at the same time. The only other ketchup I have is jalapeno flavored.  They were on sale at Kroger, and you save a dollar apiece, or something like that if, you buy 5 or more, so I bought 2 of each. No habanero flavored ketchup for me, thank you.

Mayochup Mayonnaise & Ketchup Sauce is good with french fries, but I haven't tried any of their other mixed sauces. I don't even remember seeing them.

A big batch of battered, not breaded, mozzarella sticks dipped in spaghetti sauce.

A bowl Kung Pao chicken over fried rice from Panda Express. Earlier I had a bowl of Beijing Beef over chow mein. And I had spring rolls and crab  rangoon for appetizers, and apple pie rolls for dessert. I must not be the only who loves the apple pie roll, because they ran out before 7 pm when I was picking up my order. The Kung Pao chicken made my eyes water the whole time I was eating it, and for a little while after. It's the closest thing I've found to Princess Chicken that a Korean restaurant down the road from me had a LONG time ago. That was SO good and one thing from there I really miss. I pulled 2 chili peppers out of my chicken this morning and slurped the sauce off of them. I accidentally broke one in half and sucked out almost all the seeds. I chewed them up and swallowed them, and as with most chili peppers, they weren't even hot.

Campbell's Chunky Chili Mac soup. I added a lot of chili powder and some grated Parmesan and Romano cheese, since that's the only cheese I have. It's really sweet and must have a lot of sugar added to it.

Yep. It has 15 grams of sugar, including 4 grams they added. It would have naturally been as sweet as it should be. And it has 3/4 of the daily recommended amount of sodium. If I wanted to eat that much salt I'd put a bag of popcorn in the microwave. Pop Secret Double Butter has about 2.5 grams of sodium for a 3.5 serving bag, or 2,500 milligrams, about 10% of the daily recommended amount, and the soup is 1,720. The numbers don't even come close to adding up, right so someone messed up.

Chicken tortilla soup with Peri Peri hot sauce. As Jim Carey said in The Mask, SMOKIN!. It was good, and hot, but not quite that hot. I like it, a lot. I broke up several pretzel sticks and threw them in, a mixture of Dot's original seasoned pretzels and honey mustard pretzels. I tasted lime in the soup, no doubt about it. I just checked the ingredients and lime juice concentrate is one of them.

I'm having cheesy potatoes now. There are 3 3/4 pounds of them, and they're all mine. A little bit overdone but still good. I'm eating the worst part first, the upper right corner. Things are only getting better from here on in. I planned on checking them 10 minutes before they were supposed to be done, so I could take them out if they were ready. But time flew by and I didn't check them. I'm going to put a little bit of chipotle ketchup on this serving.

I'm eating peach cobbler warmed up in the microwave, and thinking about how good it would be with a scoop vanilla of ice cream on top.
