Changing my mind
I was dead set against voting for John McCain. I was prepared to vote for Bob Barr, the Libertarian candidate, even though I knew in my heart he had no chance of winning.
I just could not vote for McCain, knowing all the things he had done that I do not agree with at all, such as his so-called campaign finance reform, which was a direct slap at the First Amendment, not to mention his support of closing the non-existent "gun show loophole." Let it be known that there is no such thing as a gun show loophole. The laws apply at gun shows the same as anywhere else.
Anyway, McCain's choosing of Sarah Palin, an NRA life member, a shooter, a hunter, a fisher, an all-around great lady, has really got me re-thinking my vote.
We cannot let Obama, a person who never seen a gun control law he didn't like, a person who would ban gun ownership today if he could, to be president. We cannot let a person who would turn tail and run in Iraq, now that we are actually winning the war, be president. We cannot allow this man who would take from those who actually produce in this country, and give it to people who wouldn't work if their life depended on it, to be president.
As much as I disagree with McCain on many issues, he is a far sight better than the alternative. This is one of the most important elections in years. Consider what these people actually stand for.
Please, vote for freedom, vote for McCain/Palin. He is not perfect. Nobody is. But he is a far sight better than the opposition. And Sarah Palin would be a great vice president, not to mention a great president.
