Clyde No 3 is easy to explain.  It's an old mining town named afer the mine.  Just like Thompson 2 down near Uniontown.

The were company built and yes, they had a company store.

There is also a small town/bend-in-the-road on the way to St. Augustine:

Bulls Hit.  They are semi-famous for potatoes and potato chips

New Mexico:
Flying H, NM
Truth Or Consequences, NM
Weed, NM

Years ago, a popular game show was taped at Hot Springs, NM which was later renamed after the show "Truth or Consequences".  The town actually has hot springs and is the entrance to Elephant Butte Lake.

The host said he would do the show in the first town that changed their name. The town changed their name so the show was taped there.
