Winchester sxp
« on: July 04, 2020, 05:20:47 PM »
Guy I just brought home w Winchester sxp 12 gauge. It’s the defender series in desert tan. It’s a smooth and fast to cycle shotgun. I’m going to the range Thursday, is there anything I should know about these SXP’s. I was a steal for $239.

A few basics I remember from when these first came out and a couple of friends that got them:

1.  Clean, inspect and lube the gun out of the box and before first trip to the range.  Make sure that it is all lubed as required before first use.  I know I know, this is what we should do, but worth noting.
2.  The inertia assist feels different, and it takes a little to get used to.  Don't get lazy and forget to fully cycle the pump!  One friend talked of short stroking his and not getting full ejection and/or release of next round from the magazine.
3.  Reading both reviews and ratings on the gun, the first two points cover many issues, and the third is that manufacture and material flaws almost always show up in the first 100 shots.  Like electronics, if this gun is going to break, it will happen right away.  If a flaw doesn't show up early, it will be solid.

Those points made, I hear mostly good about the gun from friends that have it.  Not enough negative or hate to say I would shy from it in any situation.  As to issue #3, I always practice and teach that you run 100 rounds through a gun before considering it for self defense, and that the real testing doesn't start until you are past that.
If I appear taller than other men it is because I am standing on the shoulders of others.

I’ve sold a few, handle a few dozen.  Nobody came back angry for buying it...

As Mike said, they are very greasy out of the box so cleaning is essential and recommended on ANY gun buy!

Thanks guys. I just couldn’t pass up the gun. Specially with the way things are $239 was a steal. It’s made in turkey so I’m just curious.

Schazam.  I went to the Winchester web site to learn about the SXP and I couldn't believe the number of models.  I though Sig was bad with all its 365 variations, but the SXP models go on forever.  If Win only sold one of each model they'd make their profit margin for the year.

I’m thinking of a 20 gauge field gun and a defender. Some of the camo and options are awesome, and they come with invector choke system

The models we peddle had only one choke with the gun.  You had to buy more.

Most guns come with at least IC, M and F chokes...

Hello to all hunting enthusiasts. Semiautomatic shotgun Beretta A300 Outlander was the first weapon I bought, I have used it for almost five years, and I am satisfied with it. I want to tell you about it in detail. A famous Italian company makes the gun, has a classic and rigorous design, the body is made of plastic to facilitate the entire gun it is about 3 pounds, as well as making it more durable, a shotgun is available in wood, of course, but I opted for plastic. The gun has an excellent gas release system, which softens the recoil of firing. The barrel of the gun is made of high-strength steel with the addition of chromium.
