Never sold anything on ebay but if you have an account set up to buy stuff, I don't think it's that hard of a step to sell also.

Check out the IRS 990's of Salvation Army!  Go ahead and do it!

Kenneth G Hodder, Commissioner, Highest paid member of the Salvation Army = less than $95,000 per year

As you go through ALL of the 990's for Salvation Army you will find regional leaders that make only $30K - $40K annually, and they will be the only paid positions within the regional leadership.  As you look at their financial statements and IRS filings you will find that the Salvation Army is among the most efficient charities.

How does that compare to LaPierre and his parasite cronies at NRA ?

TAB, I've never used E Bay myself, but a friend of mine paid for a Toyota Tacoma with old cans, paper dolls, and crap she found in the farmhouse they bought.

Give to the Salvation Army.

Or, find a local men's shelter and give directly to them, it's what I do. I prefer to support local missions so I can see that the help actually helps, not lines someone else's pocket.

Yes indeed.

We have a good one locally called Brother Charlies Rescue. It was started back in the late 70's by a guy who was a local church bus driver who saw a need in the community. They run a couple of thrift stores to help fund their facility and internal programs and classes.

We tried to sell a motorcycle on Ebay once.  I had forgotten about that nightmare until reading TAB's experience.  All it was was scammers.  Sold to be picked up.  Followed by an overnight cashier's check for the amount plus shipping, and I am to cash it and pay the shipper when they pickup the bike.

We were in small town at the time, so I called the Sheriff, and he met me at the bank.  They all verified what I already knew - It was a rip off, but the Sheriff decided to attempt something.  The bank deposited the check in an account and gave me a receipt showing deposit of the net - Cash withheld for shipping.  I emailed the receipt to the scammer, and started the process.  Next day I received an email with the carrier information, but instructions to wire the funds to an account as the shipper demanded prepayment.  Sheriff, the State Agency, and the bank all went to work, and they couldn't get through the maze of information to catch anyone.  This whole thing was an attempt to get $650 out of me.

The others who contacted us were all the same.  That was the time where I vowed to never sell on Ebay, but also quit buying on them.
If I appear taller than other men it is because I am standing on the shoulders of others.

That's the thing, there are so many cutouts and other stuff that following the trail is damned hard.

I just sold more stuff on my wife’s Facebook Marketplace.

We always meet the buyer in a public setting and so far so good!  Just gotta watch for the douche bags!

Sold a Fender guitar case in about an hour for exactly what I was asking!

I think fb marketplace has put a slight dent in ebay's sales...probably in craigslist's sales too. I stopped looking for things on craigslist when the business listings showed up more than private sales.
