Ruger 22 Charger with Silent-SR Takedown Integrally Suppressed Barrel

The Ruger 22 Charger Takedown model will accept the Silent-SR Takedown Integrally Suppressed Barrel made for the Ruger 10/22 Takedown rifle. The overall length is a rifle-legal length of 16.12" and actual barrel is 10.63" long. The regular 22 Charger barrel is 10" long, so you don't have to worry about any loss of velocity in the slightly longer suppressed barrel. I cobbled together 3 different pictures of the 22 Charger and Silent-SR Takedown ISB to get a better idea what it looks like, and I like it. If there was ever a good reason to get the takedown version of the 22 Charger, this is it. Suggested retail price = $629.00 for the Silent-SR Takedown ISB, and $529.00 for the 22 Charger Takedown, for a total of $1,158. If you're on a $1,500 budget for the combo, that leaves you with $342 to spend on a scope or bipod. So you better have 2 grand.

Looks like it would be a sweet setup, main thing I'd din it on is no viable way to mount a BUIS if adding it to my Charger MWS.

It just looks so bad a** as is I wouldn't worry about BUIS. I'd add an optic and a lightweight bipod and call it a day. Just a short bipod to keep the mag off a shooting bench, but that's me. Except I would get the 22 Charger Lite (Limited Availability) with a factory-installed Picatinny-style rail brace mount with integrated QD cup instead of the original Charger Takedown. Then I'd slap a stock on it and turn it into a rifle. That way it would be an integrally-suppressed or non-suppressed pistol, or a suppressed rifle as my mood dictated. It's still legal to turn a pistol into a rifle and back into a pistol. Just don't have a short pistol barrel and stock on it at the same time.

My MWS, the frame was an eBay takeoff with a Copper Custom brace adapter already installed. Got a sweet deal there... part of why I was thinking "fixed iron" is that having to dial in a different scope zero for each of four barrels is gonna suck. LOL

I always have wanted a Charger.  It's like "baby's first sniper rifle".  You know what I mean...I never bought one for myself or my boys but wow did we ever talk about it.  I suppose I was waiting for $$$'s to come in or the price to go down.

Just buy a stripped BRN22 receiver and roll-yer-own one piece at a time. That way you can build it exactly your way with no waste in takeoffs...

The purchase paperwork would have to say it's a pistol receiver, otherwise you'd be making a pistol out of a rifle.

I wasn't even thinking of that. Buying a quick-release optic zeroed in for each barrel could be doable but expensive. Even though the barrels are all swappable, I would most likely use the suppressed barrel all the time if I had one. But I'm even more interested in a  1-9" twist 10/22 barrel optimized for Aguila 60 grain Sniper Subsonic (SSS) ammo. They look like .22 Short cases, but the bullets are so long it's a .22 LR. If I build a 10/22 type rifle I'd like to put one of those barrels on a Fletcher OpenTop 11/22 receiver.

Brownells BRN22 is a never-assembled bare receiver, same class as when you buy a virgin AR lower.

I thought they had to declare those as pistols too, but maybe not. I only bought a complete rifle and a complete lower, so I'm not speaking from experience. It's one of those things I might look up at ATF just to find out.
