I just wait for stuff to go on sale then go nuts.   Olight had some new product announcements during the NRA annual meetings and all the new stuff was on sale including their new rechargeable red dot and green dot sights. I got an Olantern Stretch so I can quit lugging around the lantern I have with 2 fluorescent tubes and 2 6 volt lantern batteries. If you want the light to spread father, all you need to do is stretch it out.

I'm wary of Olight after the plastic battery-cover on a PL-1 II Valkyrie crumbled into dust in a duffel bag, no stress or load or anything beyond sitting in a bag on an AR pistol under my bed for a year.

  So far I haven't had any problems but haven't had anything very long. They have a lifetime warranty now in the U.S. and a few other countries, and are expanding it to more and more countries. Either they're confident in their products, or know how cheap it is to replace them. I'm not sure which, but everything I have looks well made, not like typical Chinese jumk. I'll see how the Valkyrie PL Turbo holds up on my RIA-USA VRF-14. I had a NcStAR VISM Pro Series Flashlight 500 Lumen Rail Mount on it, that never worked at all after one day of shooting. I may get some shooting in during the week of the 4th of July, but also want to shoot one of my AR-15s and won't have much time to do both and do any four-wheeling. I need to test fire some new ammo in my Para-Ordnance 12.45 LDA too.

Double-action 1911?

LDA -- Light Double Action. The slide pre-cocks it by way of a cocking cam attached to the hammer, part #55 in the diagram. Pulling the trigger only has to cock it the rest of the way and fire it. Just like a striker fired pistol. There's no second-strike ability like a true double-action. You carry it UN-cocked and locked, actually half-cocked with the hammer down, and it's a really nice trigger. When it's pre-cocked, the hammer is actually back just a fraction of an inch, and when it's uncocked the hammer is flush with the rear of the slide. MB talks about the LDA on this page.

I have a bunch more flashlights coming in the afternoon. I have a full-blown flashlight addiction now and can't stop buying them. Especially when I see limited editions for 40% off, and stuff like that. One of the new ones is up to 2,300 lumens of output, plus it looks great. It has up to 55 days of runtime at 1 lumen. It's amazing how well I can see around the bedroom at night with 1 lumen or even just .5 lumens of light. I did have my bedroom lights set to moonlight, but switched them to low in case I need more light when I first turn them on. This Warrior 3S has a side switch that controls all of the modes, plus a tail switch for Medium and Turbo depending on how hard you press it, but it can be programmed to Turbo and Strobe instead if you want. And it comes with a holster too, so you don't have to stick it in your pocket or use the two-way pocket clip.

Heresy? It may not be what God and JMB intended, but that doesn't make it bad. It's just different, and having more alternatives in the gun world is never a bad thing. Well, some of the alternatives are just plain bad, but as Marta Stewart used to say BEFORE she was arrested, it's a good thing.   With with Cylinder & Slide Titanium Nitride coated parts that reduce Series 80 Trigger Pull approximately one pound, my P10-45 is reading 7 pounds if I'm using the trigger gauge properly. I haven't read the instructions yet but it's a cheap one with a spring in it, and it doesn't feel THAT bad. My full-size Para that has everything hard chrome plated is reading 4 1/2 pounds and feels really good, but the LDA is good too. It really is a nice trigger, but doesn't have the barely perceptible movement of the others.
