I realized today that the MetaTactical M-LOK Thumb Rest on the left side of the handguard was too far forward (pic 1). I tried moving it back half of an M-LOK slot but it didn't work. Because of the angles on the inner reinforcements (arrows, pic 2), it has to be in one slot, and not straddle the space between 2 slots. This is pretty rare for M-LOK accessories AFAIK, to not be able to use 2 half-slots instead of a whole one. So, I moved it back 1 slot and that was too far.

So I took it back off and I flipped it around, with the curve forward and the flat part toward the back (pic 3), which had the same effect as moving it back half a slot, except now I have to use the flat thumb shelf instead of the curved one. I'm happy with it, but would have been happier
if I could put it where I want, and do it the way I want to. Any ladies reading are probably thinking, "typical guy" and rolling their eyes.

Luckily the Squid Grips clear it no matter which way it's facing. When I used a different rail cover I had to cut a corner off, as you can see in the fifth pic of post 1 of this thread.
I took the Midwest Industries Tactical Light Mount off last night and put it on my 12.7" AR. After I get the new one for this gun and an accessory for the 12.7" that I ordered from them today, I'll show you why. I need to have one on this gun to mount the front sling swivel. There's an anti-rotation QD socket built into both Picatinny rails, so it's easy to mount a sling on one side and a light on the other. I took the piece of junk laser off awhile back. Because it's a piece of junk. I also took a drill bit slightly wider than the slots on top of the handguard and reamed them all out a tiny bit.
