CroMag Industries MagRipper
« on: April 13, 2025, 01:29:58 AM »
I ordered a Blaster Master Pack from CroMag Industries and it finally shipped from Canada Saturday afternoon. It comes with:

1 MagRipper speed loader OR MagRipper G.I. speed loader.
1 No Bad D'Eh Stripper Clip Loader (choice of Green or Tan).
2 Double Front Line packs of 5.56mm/.223 Thermold Stripper Clips (60 clips).

I ordered an OD Green MagRipper G.I. made of Omnix 4050 50% glass-fiber reinforced, high-performance polyamide (HPPA). The regular MagRipper is made of Impact-Modified 20% Carbon Fiber Reinforced Nylon-6. Like a type of Zytel, but Omnix sounds like it's a better material. Both models are available in Black, FDE, or OD Green, so there are 6 to choose from. Besides loading with clips you can also load loose rounds, and the loader folds up small enough to fit in a pocket. I would be afraid of breaking my Thermold loader if I carried it in a pocket. I ordered the Green No Bad D'Eh Stripper Clip Loader too. It's made by another Canadian company, eh?

I kind of like their "30-round Mohawk" logo.

My MagRipper G.I., Clip Loader, and 60 more Thermold clips got here today. I'm going to put Lust For Lists on, on SiriusXM, and load my 900 rounds of .223 Remington 52 grain JHPs into clips. I'll put 600 rounds in cardboard inserts for bandoliers, but I don't have any bandoliers, just ammo cans. UPS is bringing another ammo can tomorrow, a 120mm mortar ammo can. Outside Dimension: 12" x 6-1/2" x 32". Available Interior Space: 11" x 5-1/2" x 31-1/2". Weight: 22.5 lbs. Big enough to stick a few long guns in. They stack horizontally using the built-in ribs, and should be useful for storing all kinds of survival tools and food.

I loaded all 900 rounds of bulk JHPs into clips, using 90 of the 100 clips I got from UniqueTek. It's a good thing I got 60 more today because there will be 100 more cardboard sleeves in my ammo box tomorrow. I have 18 of them in one ammo can, 540 rounds, and 36 more clips in the 6 Ziploc bags the ammo came in  in another ammo can for now. I'll have to reevaluate later to figure out if I need more clips or sleeves, or ammo cans to put them in. I forgot to post pics of the 120mm can I'm getting. They didn't have 120mm mortars when I was in the army, just the four-deuce which was 107mm, and rifled with gain-twist rifling. Now all the mortars are fin-stabilized.

Here's the Clip Loader in use. It seems easier to load the loader while it's open, then close it, like in the video. But it seems just as fast to keep it closed all the time, so I put a rubber band around mine. I'm not planning on gluing it shut permanently. If it gets any junk in it, it will be easier to clean out if I can flip it open. I didn't know until I got mine, but the end of it that stops the clip from going too far has a notch in the middle so the brass tab on G.I. clips doesn't hit it. You can bend the tab with your finger as much or as little as you wish.

CroMag sent a CARE package of 50 MagRippers to the front lines in Ukraine. That was mighty nice of them.

The UniqueTek Stripper Clip Loading Block is 3D printed using the latest SLA (Stereolithography) technology. SLA printed parts have a uniform finish without visible striations or cleavage lines where the part can fail. The increasing costs for materials and machine time were becoming unacceptable to continue making this out of aluminum like in the videos. The internal walls now have vertical ribs between cartridges for additional support, making it possible to load less than 10 rounds onto a stripper clip without any difficulty. The bottom is open so any residue falls through. It's 25 bucks and the one I got was only 20, but this one may be better since it's one solid piece. It doesn't have a stop for the clip, but it stops when your thumb hits the loader.

If you buy ammo in boxes, not bulk, depending on what kind of boxes they, are you may be able to load the clips right from the box. No clip loader required.
