I'll repeat what I said when I was watching Clinton's 1991 victory speech after turning wrenches on f-16's all night in Germany...

"WE'RE SCREWED"
Firearms stand next in importance to the Constitution itself. They are the American people's liberty teeth and keystone under independence. The very atmosphere of firearms everywhere restrains evil interference. - George Washington

Your choice:

Based upon the video, which description would best fit Barack Obama?

A)  Naive

B)  Overly Optimistic

C)  A Friggin Idiot
I love waking up every morning knowing that Donald Trump is President!!

Can't decide between A or C there should be a "D" Traitor as well because the reason the Iranians took our Embassy personel hostage for444 days and we couldn't do anything about it was carter's applying the exact same ideas.

I know I have posted about this before, but I was a Marine Motor transport Mechanic when the Iran hostage crises took place, The "Failure at Desert One" of the rescue mission was blamed on poor joint service cooperation. That's pure BS.
It was actually a "Failure in Washington" We only had repair parts 3 months a year because we could not afford them.
Every Marine is a Rifleman, I went to the rifle range ONCE in 2 1/2 years at Camp Lejune because budget cuts meant the Corps could not afford training ammo, When I was on Med Cruise in 78 the trucks that were supposed to tow our artillery were literally falling apart because the democrat peanut carter kept the armed forces to poor for luxuries like Maintenance and repairs. We did what we could with baling wire and good intentions but you can only accomplish so much with nothing. We had CH 47's falling out of the sky because they could not be maintained properly. Marines died so carter could pay welfare dead beats. And B Hole wants to do the same damn thing.
If I state my opinion of either of those mo$%^ fu#@$s I would wind up in jail.
I bet you other carter era vets have other horror stories.

While I have to agree with Tom about the budget and mismanagement at the national level, the Desert One mishap was in the end the failure of the helo crew to maintain situational awareness in brownout conditions and having to many fast moving parts (helos/herks) crammed into a small space with little coordination to get the aircraft deconflicted while they tried to launch.

We crunch airplanes almost daily on an CV/CVN, mostly minor stuff, and we can SEE what's there even at night.  Plus there are hundreds of eyes on each plane move to make sure we don't crunch, all on the same freq, communicating both over the radio and with hand signals.

Anyway, the current Reserves isn't any better.  We are SUPPOSED to be qualifying our aircrews with the M9s but we're lucky to get ANY trigger time, even using the BeamHit lasers.  We did at least qual before cruise when I was Active but nothing really once I left Security.

I can't view the video at work (YouTube is blocked) and haven't had a chance to see it at home but I'll bet it isn't pretty.
When seconds mean the difference between life and death, the police will be minutes away.

You are either SOLVING the problem, or you ARE the problem.

Basically he'll weaken our military, drop our guard and then all we have to do is wait for the knock out punch from his islamic associates.   :(

JNevis, At that point the mission had already been aborted as there were not enough Helo still operational to carry all the personnel to and from Tehran, even though they started out with extra's, one had to turn back becuase it's nav system malfunctioned and 2 others were lost because the lack of proper filters allowed sand to wreck their engines.
