Terrorist attacks !
« on: November 01, 2008, 08:15:27 AM »
Anytime someone brings up that the war is taking too long it just pisses me off more and more.  Never forget 9/11  !!!!!!!!   Ask them how many terrorist attacks we've had on american soil since 9/11.  One reason is we have them all in Iraq and Afganistan trying to remove the infidels from  what they claim is holy land........   anyway that's exactly where we want the terrorists....there fighting our military NOT trying to get in this country to cause terror.  I know this hasn't been said by anyone but this could have been part of the strategy to fight them with our military rather than trying to hunt them down in a million places all the while they are trying to come here and blow us up like in other countries.  Now we got them 1. fighting out military not blowing up civilians.  2. Over there trying to remove us from iraq and Afgan. and not completely dedicated trying to get into this country and cause terror like 9/11 (not all I'm sure).  If Nobama wins this election and the democrats control the house and senate and we end up pulling out of those countries the terrorists will be getting in the US by boat loads.  In the beginning President Bush told everyone time and time again that this war on terror will be a long war as long as there are people out there wanting to destroy america.  Remember.  the terrorists think this is a holy war and will stop at nothing until one or the other is destroyed.   God Bless America !!!!
Sorry for ranting.....

Your not ranting when it is the truth.
Firearms stand next in importance to the Constitution itself. They are the American people's liberty teeth and keystone under independence. The very atmosphere of firearms everywhere restrains evil interference. - George Washington

You bring up something that I have said in talking with friends, When the Soviets were in Afghanistan Muslims were coming from all over the world to join the "Anti Soviet Jihad". Another thought, look at the positioning of our troops, both sides of Iran,and right on formerly isolated borders of Syria and Pakistan.

While our President is cussed and cursed because of his stance against terrorism, I admire him for standing his ground and fighting for what he believes in.  Mistakes were made but as the old saying goes, when the first bullet is fired all plans go out the window and you have to readjust.

Frederick the Great of Germany said that "Lies are thickest,after a fishing trip, during a war, and before an election."
The dems prove him right on 2 out of 3.

If that lying, racist, socialist etc.....Nobama gets in office then the terrorist attacks will start here watch how fast they try to take our guns.  They and media outlets will try and connect people with weapons and terrorists.  they won't hear the argument we need them for self defense they will think they can control the terrorist and their weapons by banning all weapons. Just like England and Australia did thinking they could control crime by getting rid of gun ownership.  They apparently convinced the people in those places....or brainwashed I'm not sure.  Nobama and his people will say they can only control terrorism in this country by banning several items but the first start will be personal ownership of guns.  I see this bs coming.  All it takes is them to allow some terrorist attacks here with not only explosives but guns to kickstart their agenda.  Just one of many things we've got to be ready for.  You're gonna have to ask yourself how far you willing to go..... I know my answer.

TM1959, I understand and respect your opinion, however I don't think terrorism will be the "tool" used for gun control.  There are plenty of non terrorist crazies out there perpetrating mass shootings to keep the anti crowd in fuel for their fires.  Terrorists are interested in mass effect, BIG numbers of casualties with the fewest required operatives and the least possibility of being thwarted.  Shooting up the local galleria isn't the most effective way for them to accomplish their goal.  One jackass wearing a bomb for a jockstrap does far more damage with a much smaller chance of failure.  Also, if BHO gets elected along with a dumbocrat majority in House/Senate, they really don't need much of a "reason" to attempt to disarm us.  We the people, will be bent over and screwed and told how much we need and like it.

On another forum I yank chains on they are calling me to task for my stance.

One item is that I do not believe in a regional Bill of Rights.  You can't say that it is ok to own this gun here but not there.

Another one has been the so called assault weapons, but has now grown into "sniper rifles."  How do you get a bunch of idiots to understand that sniping is a skill not a weapon, and that any accurate weapon in the hands of a sniper is a sniper weapon?  I thought I was going to argue with non-educated people, but one of the most intense is an Army Vet.  He want's "sniper rifles" banned, because the Barrett M8291A Sniper Rifle is being purchased legally over the counter in the United States and shipped to our enemies.  I have tried to point out a few facts to him, but am going backwards.

Facts:

1.  The general public can not purchase an M8291A - This is a weapon only available to law enforcement and military;
2.  The general public can purchase an 8291A, but no where have I found a model 8291A or M8291A Sniper Rifle in Barrett literature.  The Sniper Rifle title comes from articles and interviews written about the gun.  The journalists have labeled it as such;
3.  Fifty caliber means very little, and if you are going to ban that size and larger there are thousands of gun models to ban;
4.  The average 175 pound, five foot eight inch gang banger is not going to be running down the street with a thirty pound, four foot long gun doing run by shootings of cop cars.

The entire purpose behind a terror act is to disrupt our normal daily routine, and to incite paranoia.  This one item I am talking about is just one of thousands that terror causes.  The fact that our elected officials tend to look at the tree rather than the forest.  They see a fire and try to put out one branch and save the trunk while fourteen trees burn around it.  They then justify cutting off the one branch as the forest is being lost because "there was a problem, and you need to start somewhere."  Two items are being talked about right now - .50 caliber and larger without thought of things like muzzleloaders or shotguns, and "sniper weapons" as if these guns have the inherrant ability to hit and destroy with out the skill and discipline of the operator.
If I appear taller than other men it is because I am standing on the shoulders of others.

You would not believe the letter i received back from my democratic congressman (like he sent it right) when i asked him to vote against the assault weapon ban just before the sunset.  His stats were so wrong i couldn't believe they were even sent.  then started talking about asault weapons in the hands of terrorists and how easy it is for them to come here and buy them.  He stated intelligence found in iraq stated there was a plan to infiltrate america and buy these and go on an all out rampage.  he obviously didn't know the difference between semi auto and full auto based on his "spray and pray " comment or two.
I understand that they won't need terrorist attacks to take our weapons but a lot of the other bs didn't work even with the supreme court.  the only other all out fast avenue to get the liberals behind it is a terrorist attack and a law calling for you to help keep guns out of terrorist hands by banning and turning yours in.   they will stop at nothing and this is just a different angle of attack.  Be ready it's going to come.
 In the words of Mr. Heston "from my cold dead fingers"!!!!!!!
