To answer your question about how taxing businesses, I guess you never took economics in high school. It's really pretty simple math. A business pays more taxes which cuts down on their profit. With less profit, they have to lay off half their staff. The other half has to work twice as long. This creates a lot of overtime which costs the company even more. The tax increase and overtime pay ends up causing them to lose money on each product they sell. But, no problem; they just make up the difference by selling more products. Like I said, simple math.
