I smell a future episode of Myth Busters.

;D  LOL. I would tape that one so I can watch it again.  ;)  I don't like cats but I don't believe in torturing them for fun like some people do, like the guy tossing them off a roof to see how they land.

I worked with a guy whose cat almost burned down his house.
My friend had an old charcoal grill he used to cook on and it had rusted out holes in the bottom. One day he was dousing the charcoal with lighter fluid while the family cat was asleep UNDER THE GRILL. Well, some of the fluid ran down onto the cat and when the grill was lit, so was the cat.
Guess where the first place the cat ran to was?
Yep, under the house. It was open underneath due to ongoing renovations. My friend grabs a 18' cane fishing pole and tries to run the cat out from under the house so he can extinguish the flames.
Luckily, the cat rolled around and put out the flames without setting anything else on fire, and no long-term damage was done to the cat (full recovery).

Cats are always doing weird things and they pick the strangest places to sleep. Somebody elses cat was curled up between the fan and radiator of my dad's truck one winter. If he knew it was in there he would have gotten it out before he cranked it up. I still think cats should be on leases if they're outdoors. They would live longer, but apparently that's not what all cat owners want.

My aunt had a cat way back that got caught up in her car's radiator fan belt four different times.
Talk about stubborn (or maybe just afflicted?).
Lost half his tail, one eye, half an ear, and multiple spots where the hair wouldn't grow back.
What finally did him in was drinking old anti-freeze out of a leaky container. Guess he just had a thing for radiators.
No, his name was not 'Lucky'. His name was 'Smokey'....I just called him 'Dumb-ass cat'.

True story.

They can run through all 9 lives in a hurry if they're stupid enough. Some catch on fire, some are Smokey.  :)

HazCat,

I've noticed your absence lately.  You mentioned that there were changes coming after your Christmas retreat.

How's life treatin' you?
