In an odd twist of fate, I now need a duty holster "with a retaining device to prevent AD in the holster and prevent lifting the firearm out without using the manual release or snap.  (See the SERPA thread and my 'monkey muscle' comment. God has a sense of humor   :) ) Must attach to a duty belt or garrison belt."

So used to the simple speed holster and IWB formed kydex... gotta learn a new type of pistol (for me) and holster system in about a month to qualify. What a horrible position to be in. "Sorry, hon. Off to the range."  ;D  You better believe practice will continue well after qualification. Might get lucky and be allowed to practice indoors on the police section of a local shootery. It's set up real world with a BIG door to practice driving vehicles into bad situations.

Anyway, the suggestions on the sidearms I should look at were extremely helpful and I bet you could outdo yourselves with recommendations for holsters. Most likely for a duty length XD, liked it the best of the suggested sidearms, got to check out quite a few today.

TIA

Dude, are you working for a law firm or what? Hey-sus.

Sorry can't help you here, I think holsters peaked with the Pancake and the summer-special and should be made from stuff cut of an animal of some kind.

Thanks curries. I can go with a lvl 1 and think I'll use the Safariland 6320 with the XD.  I'm supposed to keep my hand resting on the pistol anyway, so the hoods, straps, etc are overkill.

If you need to keep your hand on the pistol at all times, it's a wonder they even let you have a holster.  ::)
""It may be laid down as a primary position, and the basis of our system, that every Citizen who enjoys the protection of a free Government, owes not only a proportion of his property, but even his personal services to the defence of it, and consequently that the Citizens of America (with a few legal and official exceptions) from 18 to 50 Years of Age should be borne on the Militia Rolls, provided with uniform Arms, and so far accustomed to the use of them, that the Total strength of the Country might be called forth at a Short Notice on any very interesting Emergency." - George Washington. Glad that helped.  Some in the community I work in ask "Why do you carry guns?"  I wish I could say "Because you own a $15 million home you #&@!!"

Heh. "Maybe because you won't effectively protect your own family? Oh, wait - yes you are. You pay ME to do it."

I'm getting so cynical these days. ::)

Well, getting back to the subject at hand....holsters..... does anyone know of a good tactical holster for a Taurus 24/7 OSS? I use an Uncle Mike's currently and at the range, but I would like to find something a little better. Any suggestions?

P.S. I looked at almost all of the current links to holster companies I could find here in the forums, but I couldn't find anything. That OSS is a great gun and deserves a great home. =)
