In an odd twist of fate, I now need a duty holster "with a retaining device to prevent AD in the holster and prevent lifting the firearm out without using the manual release or snap. (See the SERPA thread and my 'monkey muscle' comment. God has a sense of humor

) Must attach to a duty belt or garrison belt."
So used to the simple speed holster and IWB formed kydex... gotta learn a new type of pistol (for me) and holster system in about a month to qualify. What a horrible position to be in. "Sorry, hon. Off to the range."

You better believe practice will continue well after qualification. Might get lucky and be allowed to practice indoors on the police section of a local shootery. It's set up real world with a BIG door to practice driving vehicles into bad situations.
Anyway, the suggestions on the sidearms I should look at were extremely helpful and I bet you could outdo yourselves with recommendations for holsters. Most likely for a duty length XD, liked it the best of the suggested sidearms, got to check out quite a few today.
