Yeah, local legal considerations aside (know your area....), part of the lesson in that show was knowing when you NEED To or CAN go to your firearm to reduce the risk to you or others. If you go to gun before you "need" to or in a situation where you escalate the actions of the bad guy, you aren't helping anyone.
