thanks for the info it is greatly appreciated you know it is pretty bad when an american is pretty much required to carry a handgun because of all the gangbangers and punks out there trying to kill or rob the innocent so they can get a quick fix on drugs or something, one of the things that started all this is when one of my friends from high school went to walk his kids to a nearby dairy queen and it ended up with him getting mugged and then shot 3 times when some punk demanded for his wallet, he survived and won't go anywhere without his colt or glock anymore and definitely won't go out after 7 pm, this is a pretty ****** up world that we live in some times.

IF we stand up we can fix it!

You can't even buy a Jimenez Arms pistol for that low of a price and that's probably the cheapest gun there is.

yeah I know that, that is one reason I am joining the military not only for the experience but for the fact that just maybe by me fighting for my country I can try to make a difference, and who knows me fighting may make no difference but at least then I can say that I tried.

You'll make a difference, son.  God bless you and keep you safe.

that is what I hope, and I have just got the opportunity to get a glock or luger in a couple months which should I choose I have heard the glock is pretty good but I have also heard from some people that a luger is better.

The Luger is more of a collector's item, not something to carry.

Get the Glock  ( I can't believe I just said that! )

Really, Lugers are 'cool' but a Glock is a modern, reliable weapon.

Get something that you can sell, when you join the military you may not be able to keep it until you get to your first base, and if overseas maybe not even there. You definately cannot take it to Basic Training.

Glocks seem to last forever, don't let the fact that it's used bother you, but get training in SD most ranges either have classes or can give you a contact to someone who does and some Police Dept's offer FREE classes.

Go here:  http://www.nraila.org/GunLaws/#?st=KS
Must be 21 to buy a handgun in Ks, Open carry is OK
