It may have been.  It's on which ever show does the torture tests.

It did fire but the bullets didn't travel far and went in any direction.

HA! I once got fired from a magazine job for an article called "How to Carry a Gun on the Beach!" The editor called and asked me what kind of psychotic would carry a gun on the beach, to which I replied, "A live one." Biddidah-bump! Instant unemployment.

I like the little Kel-Tec .32 in tis blue pouch...

I'd like to see that article. I'd think it'd be hard not to print like a copier through wet swim trunks. I've been wondering the same thing ever since Clyde Caceras's CCW Demystified video when he said he'd carried a J-frame in a belly band under his swim trunks.

I was at the beach this weekend and had to leave the firearm behind since I would be going into the water.  I would like to hear everyone's advice/preference for a carry gun, rig & ammo when going into water.
My current thought would be a lightweight revolver in a pocket with a zipper, maybe something like board shorts with a nice pocket on the leg?

Gee this is so simple.  If you are going diving, bring a big gun and forget the weight belt...or at least part of it..and bring as big a damn gun as you need to get neutral buoyancy.  If you aren't diving, bring a little gun.

Seriously, if you are beachcombing for babes or whatever...a stainless steel AMT Backup if you're an auto fan or a little titanium Taurus otherwise (wouldn't want to get S&W's aluminum alloys in salt water).  I'd get the blue anodized Taurus with gold accents...the babes love'em back at the hacienda.  You really need to keep the weight down to keep the swim trunks on and you don't want too big a gun and be accused of misleading some damsel.

Mislead the ladies.... never... that really is a gun in my pocket. And yes I am happy to see you.

Anybody seen any published saltwater torture tests for BUGs (BackUp Guns)?  That really is the category we are talking about here anyway.

Thanks to all that have posted thus far ;)

Michael did say something about the 226 Sig being used by special ops...probably means there is some saltwater resistance there.  The old AMT backups were carried by a friend of mine who worked Ft. Lauderdale PD..he kept the SS model in 9 MM in his wallet holster and it went diving with him a couple of times.
