Time to "loose" all your guns. They're trying again.
« on: March 10, 2009, 10:14:14 AM »
I just got this e-mail:

Go to any government website and type in HR 45 or Google HR 45 Blair Holt Firearm Licensing & Record of Sales Act of 2009. You will get all the information.

Basically this would make it illegal to own a firearm - any rifle with a clip or ANY pistol unless:

·It is registered
·You are fingerprinted
·You supply a current Driver's License
·You supply your Social Security #
·You will submit to a physical & mental evaluation at any time of their choosing
·Each update - change or ownership through private or public sale must be reported and costs $25 - Failure to do so you automatically lose the right to own a firearm and are subject up to a year in jail.
·There is a child provision clause on page 16 section 305 stating a child-access provision. Gun must be locked and inaccessible to any child under 18.

They would have the right to come and inspect that you are storing your gun safely away from accessibility to children and fine is punishable for up to 5 yrs.. in prison.

If you think this is a joke - go to the website and take your pick of many options to read this. It is long and lengthy. But, more and more people are becoming aware of this. Pass the word along. Any hunters in your family - pass this along.

Peter Boyles is on this and having guests. Listen to him on K.H.O.W. 6:30 a.m. in the morning. He suggests the best way to fight this is to tell all your friends about it and "spring into action". Also he suggests we all join a pro-gun group like the Colorado Rifle Association, hunting associations, gun clubs and especially the NRA.

OH SH$#!!!  "My canoe just tipped over while hunting and ALL my guns fell in the lake!"

"I tripped and broke the stock off that gun, so I threw it in the garbage."

"When we moved I forgot it in our old house."

"My dog ate it."

Outside california I cant see proposing something like that being good for any political carreer...  What are they thinking?!?

This state (Michigan) already requires registration of all handguns.  Has for years.  An "unreported loss or theft" will net you something like $1000 fine and a year in jail per gun.  So when they do decide to come collecting its pretty hard to get out of!

Up until this January they called it a "mandatory safty inspection", but all the sudden that changed when they got sued for enough money last year.  Now they dont even try to hide calling it registration.

OKAY let's go over this again.   IF YOU LIE, you will be prosecuted.  Do not make up stories.   Many of those prosecuted on the federal level are for false statements not for the original wrongdoing.  4473 prosecutions are for falsifying federal forms, not for gun running or gun trafficking.

REPEAT AFTER ME.   DO NOT TALK TO THE POLICE.  DO NOT MAKE UP STORIES.

If "they" come for your guns, say I need to talk to a lawyer.
If they have a search warrant, invite them in.  Open any cabinet, closet or safe they want to look inside.
After searching and they can't find what they want, say, "I NEED TO TALK TO A LAWYER."

Do not volunteer any info.  Don't make up any stories.  Don't get talkative.

Let's practice
POLICE ASK ---     YOUR RESPONSE  IS
Can we come in --- I would like to talk to a lawyer
Do you have any guns? --- I would like to talk to a lawyer
We have a list, where are they? ---   I would like to talk to a lawyer
You are required by law to show us your guns --- I would like to talk to a lawyer
Come on now, where did you bury them?  ---  I would like to talk to a lawyer
We'll find them anyway.  --- I would like to talk to a lawyer
Betcha $20 I know where they are.  --- I would like to talk to a lawyer
We can haul you in for not cooperating --  I would like to talk to a lawyer

Following Alf's advice - Remember that Al Capone did not go to jail for murder, extortion, bribery, bootlegging, arson, or even parking tickets.  Al Capone went to jail for tax evasion!  That's right, he lied on his taxes.

Big Al didn't lie on his taxes. He never filed any taxes.

I would try and down play my oops, except I just ranted about the power of words on another thread.  Sure enough someone would catch me at it, and if that happened I'd rather receive a "clip" lashing  :-[
