From FOX NEWS
Machine gun-toting man leaves 12 dead across two Alabama counties — including his own mother and girlfriend — in a bloody rampage,
It had to be a "machine" gun

To the ignorant masses, anything that is not a 5 shot revolver IS a machine gun.

According to the MSM...anything that you don't pour powder down the muzzle is an "automatic weapon".

It's easier to attack the means than they "why".  If you investigate the why, you may see that somewhere society has failed and doesn't want to admit it's failure, so the attack will be on the means (guns) instead of the evil monster that executes and burns his mother and tagets infants and todlers. This guy was truely evil.

The boy could have run around doing this with a rock in his hand, and every one would have said thank God he didn't use that hand grenade.

When we people learn bad people do bad things, and it don't matter what's illegal they'll still do it.  Truck bomb, stabbings, anthrax, make a tank out of a bulldozer, poison....  Arm the good guys, because this show once again, "when seconds count, the police are only minutes away."  Sad.

As expected, a press release from the Brady Campaign:

Quote
Alabama Shooting Shows Need for Assault Weapons Ban Say National Groups

WASHINGTON - March 11 -  Following yesterday’s assault weapon rampage shooting in Alabama leaving 11 dead including the shooter, America’s leading national gun violence prevention organizations--Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, Coalition to Stop Gun Violence, Freedom States Alliance, Legal Community Against Violence, and Violence Policy Center-- issued the following joint statement:

“Our sympathies go to all those affected by this terrible tragedy.

“The guns used in yesterday’s rampage shooting across Alabama--a Bushmaster AR-15-style assault rifle and an SKS assault rifle--are military-bred firearms developed for the specific purpose of killing human beings quickly and efficiently.  Yesterday’s shooting is only the latest addition to a string of preventable tragedies committed with these military-style weapons.  America needs an effective federal assault weapons ban to stop the mass production and marketing by the gun industry of these anti-personnel weapons.  Today we call on the U.S. Congress to pass a federal assault weapons ban modeled on California’s effective law that would ban these weapons once and for all.

“The answer to gun violence is not more guns.  Alabama has one of the highest gun ownership rates in the nation–more than 57 percent of the state’s households have guns–and some of the weakest gun laws in the country.  At the same time, its overall gun death rate for 2005 (16.18 per 100,000) ranks it fifth in the nation.  The sad truth is that America will continue to experience these horrific events until Congress listens to the friends and families of the 30,000 Americans who die from guns each year instead of the National Rifle Association.”

Canned rhetoric.  ::)

Was there also a statement issued by Brady about the church shooting on Sunday that occurred in the state which has the strictest gun laws and at the same time leads the nation in murders? Cue the crickets.

I stand corrected  :-[

You guys have pointed out that I am over qualified for President, so I'll just have to reign as King ... How does for life sound  ;D

I'm looking for a group of jesters.  No need to apply, I've got a long list from this place  ;D
I'd volunteer, but I think we already have a King. King BHO - or is that Messiah BHO - only begotten son of Pelosi?

I knew there was change that we could count on. I just didn't think that they meant that I'd be counting the dollars that I have left on one hand.

How is an SKS an assault weapon? That one isn't even on our list in California.

We had a school shooting just 2 hours ago here in Germany. Nine people killed and a lot more wounded. I pray to god that the guy was not a firearms license holder. Otherwise we are in deep sh...
I saw this on the news this morning. What are the laws like about owning guns in Germany? They probably fly in the face of the antis here. Was this an American school?

According to the Birmingham News:

"Police said McLendon was armed with two assault rifles, an SKS and a Bushmaster, using high-capacity magazines taped together; a shotgun; and a .38-caliber handgun. At this time we believe that he fired in excess of 200 rounds during the assaults."
