Figured I wouldn't completely waste the day today and took the kids to a new gun show. It was put on by Showmasters and it was thier first one in this area. I think they are out of Virginia. It was a pretty good show.

There were all kinds of ammo and components. The vendors were still awefully proud of thier products and not much seemed to be moving out the door. But the stuff is out there again.

Cheaperthandirt.com S&B 5.56 for $7.97 per 20. New ammo. Prices probably won't get much better, and NO I won't shoot Wolf, or that Bear stuff in my Sig556..

Went into my local money funnel (aka Wal-mart). They are renovating (store is only 8 yrs old) and moved sporting goods so I moseyed on over to see what I could see and buy a couple of rifle cases for the silent auction fundraiser at our FFA Livestock Auction tonight.

Not a lot of anything except a few boxes of odd caliber hunting ammo, but they were well stocked on Federal .223 100 round bulk packs for $40. I was in a hurry and there was no one to get it.....so, I'll swing in tonight after the auction and grab a box or two.
They also had plenty of .40 S&W but mot much else in handgun ammo.

I stopped by the local Walmart this afternoon to see what they had as I was looking for .40 S&W. They had one box of .357 sig, and some .22 shorts. That was about it. I debated buying the .357 sig.

Just wanted to say that I stopped by Cabellas last night and was surprised to find more ammo on the shelves than I've seen in a long time!  The guy stocking it said that things have slowed down quite a bit and that ammo is staying on the shelves much longer.  The only .380 ammo they are having a hard time keeping in stock is .380 but everything else was there for the most part.

I may have to swing by Wallmart to see if they also have it available.  I will say though that the prices have gone up quite a bit.  Last time I bought some S&B 9mm it was $9.99 for a box of 50.  Their "sale" price was $13.99.

I also noticed that their gun library is looking pretty packed with a lot of used guns for sale.  I saw a pristine series 70 Gold Cup as well as a S&W 627 pre-lock that I was very tempted to buy.

I stopped at Walmart again today looking for .40 S&W. There were 3 guys in front of me waiting for the clerk to arrive. There was a cart behind the counter with ammo in it that hadn't been placed on the shelf yet so there were waiting to see what it was. At least one of them was also looking for .40. The cart ended up being 9mm, .223, .30-30 and something else that I can't recall. No .40 S&W.

I did buy the box of .357 SIG and the last 3 boxes of .22LR that were on the shelf. Now I need to buy a .357 SIG

We have a brand new WW SuperCenter, just opened Thursday. Most ammo behind locked glass - even rifle. Only thing on the shelf is shotgun shells. Thanks to the Nanny Walaker who got into bed with Nanny Bloomberg, asshole!!!  >:(

Not much ammo in this brand new store either, whereas almost all of the gun shops are well stocked.

GF noted that even food supplies are limited. The old store (still open) has had open food shelves in a number of areas and this store has limited selection. For flour they only had house brand and Gold Medal, not the usual 5-6 labels. Hmmmmm. Wonder what this means?
