Sunset Coast, Michigan, the economic a$$hole of America for some time now.  We have a Canadian governor that needs to be shipped back to Canada along with all her tax proposals.  She can take Detroit with her.

There are some beautiful places in Michigan and some great hunting and fishing.  Michigan's Upper Peninsula (UP) is wonderful.  Michigan received the UP because of a land dispute with Ohio which was given the Toledo strip.

Still some BS gun laws like hand gun registration and no SBRs or AOWs, but we became a shall issue state awhile back and our attorney general ruled that we can possess full auto.  One BS law is that what is considered a rifle by federal law (over 26") is considered a handgun in MI if it is less than 30 inches long, so some rifles or shotguns in MI with pistol grip, folding, or telescoping stocks become handguns when you cross the state line, if they are 26-30'' long and funtionable  It also gets a little complicated for a nonresident to possess a handgun within the state, so if you're travling here, better check the law.

Good advice for ANY state to, or through which you may be travelling.

Born in Houston Texas, moved to Garland Texas ( borders Dallas, Mesquite, Rowlette and Plano ) when I was 7, been pretty much here ever since. The zip code 75043 is in Garland and has the highest # of CHL'S in the state. We have 6 shooting ranges within 20 miles. My Home range is Dallas Pistol Club, in Carrollton Texas. We have different shooting matches nearly every weekend, everything from air gun, silhouette, bullseye, steel plates, tactical shotgun, tactical handgun, and .22 carbine tactical.

M25,
What's the shooting school/range in Dallas run by the former British SAS guy? I believe he has like 1,000 acres setup for his shooting school......

Tac-Pro shooting center, owned by Bill Davidson, former Special Boat Service sniper. I worked for him at the local gunshows. His range is about 125 miles from me, so when we go, we usually stay the night and make a whole day of it.

Born and raised in the "Live Free or Die" state and we take that very seriously. I've traveled southern and western parts of the country and through out Europe, but I cant picture myself living elsewere. Great hunting because it is difficult and earned, unlike hunters in the midwest whom grocery shop over large food plots and corn fields. Gun laws here are fair, unlike our neighbor to the south (MA) what an embarassment! Such a state should not border NH. AKA "Mass-holes." The good people of MA now reside in NH, They're not stupid. ;)
