And besides, my LCP is approaching 1000 rounds without a blip. If you bought an LCP from Ruger and it is not working for you, definitely document the failures and contact Ruger. Every American gun comapny will stand behind their products, and they all want happy customers. On pocket semiautos like the LCP, you first step should be to document the failures with ball (i.e., FMJ) ammo...if it won't run with ball it certainly won't run with exotic personal defense ammunition. I would also get a second magazine and see if the failures are magazine related.
RE: The LCR, I can't imagine the polymer gun being any less durable than any other small frame revolver. We've said for years that if you plan to shoot a small frame revolver a lot, you need to 1) get a Ruger SP101 .357, which are the tanks of small framed revolvers, or 2) get an S&W M34 J-frame in .22 LR and shoot the heck out of it. Both of those guns are tons more pleasant to shoot than any other small frame revolvers and they'll last forever no matter what (or how much) you shoot in them.
I've shot 4 of the LCRs and have one on order...I plan on using the same ammo I use in any of the little guns, 125-grain Hornady (non +P) JHPs. If you go with +Ps (and I think the Corbon DPX are some of the best), keep them to a minimum (obviously except in the .357s).
