Is there a season or is it open year round?

Kill 'em where you can when you can.  Monster of a problem on ranches and for the local wildlife, they kill and eat every thing.  They travel in destructive packs of 20 to 30.  I've had 30 pigs walk under my blind.  That's when you get to have fun with a Mini 14 ;D.  They drive out local game and critters and up root every thing, plants, fences, and kill live stock.  Every time I go out at the family's land I carry my Mini in case I see a pig or feral dogs.  The littlest pigs are the best eating ;D, no bacon though out of wild pigs.

Kill 'em all, seriously.  They're exotic animals not native to America and they're messing up our ecosystem.  You can kill them in Texas year round where ever, take those ARs and Mini out with a friend and get you a whole herd.

And I didn't see anyone mention it, but we're talking about FERAL HOGS, not Javalina or any other native pig.

+1 on the Mini-14...carry it and one of my Super Blackhawks everywhere on our property...never know when the need might arise.
And yessir....the smaller ones are some mighty good eatin'....just cook 'em whole. One of our local processing houses only charges $35 to remove the hair and butterfly a hundred pounder. Mmmmmm, Good.

Since pilots can't arm themselves anymore, EVERYWHERE is within driving distance now!

While you said a mouthful there, you can't take a hint worth a damn.   LOL
I love waking up every morning knowing that Donald Trump is President!!

We have a real big prob with them in nor cal( more so on the coast) they average in the 150 lb range.  There is no season, tags are cheap( last time I bought them they wer $8 for 5)  The only catch is you have to fill out a crad and mail it off to the DFG, they want to know exactly where you killed it.   Great eating as well.

had one about 5 years ago that took 2 arrows and 3 30-06 before it stoped ( I was running back up for a couple bow hunters)  2 of  the 30-06 failed to pentarte the skull and traveld just underneath the skin. ( grasing blow, but they took gouges out of the skull)
I always break all the clay pigeons,  some times its even with lead.

Last one we got HazJr dropped at 50 yards on the run with his 44 lever gun.

They are tough buggers. I've witnessed a .357 magnum ricochet off of one's forehead at 20 yards.

The .50 caliber slug (from a 12 ga 1300) follow-up shot through the shoulder took him down though.

Four years ago, I'd never seen a wild hog on our land in the mountains in southeastern Oklahoma.

Now I see them just about every time I'm out hunting, fishing, working, etc.  We've killed several during recent months, but now we're looking at trapping because we can't keep up.  I'd agree with "pandemic".

NO! No trapping, its..ummmm wrong. Thats it wrong. Now inviting responsible citizens out to their good patrioic duty, that just makes you a good American.

Went on a deer hunt in a state wildlife management reserve in north Texas a few years back. The state workers there told us if we saw any hogs, to shoot them on the spot. If we didn't want the meat, we could leave them where they fell and the coyotes would clean them up.

For a State Wildlife Biologist to tell you "just shoot em and leave em", they must have a significant problem with wild pig.

I did bring one home....
