Quaker,
I haven't read where you provide any evidence that any of the claims made by this film is a fraud or hoax. Instead of casting aspersions, why don't you watch it, research the claims made, and post your research and shut up Alex Jones, and those like him, once and for all?
I have researched some of what he has said, and can say that based upon what I have looked at I can say he has some credibility, though I am still skeptical of other things he says.
In case you missed it, the Prime Minister of England, Gordon Brown, has called for a "new world order" or a one world governing body that will help synchronize the financial systems of the world. Not long after, Vladimir Putin called for a universal currency that would replace the U.S. dollar as the de facto universal currency. Next, the Chi-coms echoed the same sentiment. And lastly, our own treasury secretary says he thinks that may be a good idea too. What's wrong with creating this financial "Tower of Babel"? Think about it: one universal governing body controlling all of the world's economies. By extension, that means controlling you and I.
The really sophisticated people like you will dismiss all of this as just another paranoid delusion by some troglodytes who probably should be put into those alleged FEMA camps anyway.....
You are correct that I have only listened to/watched cuts of this film that were provided free on the web. I have not sat through the whole 90 minute extravaganza. However, as I have said here and elsewhere I am deeply sceptical of conspiracy theories of any sort. Why? Because they offer simple explanations for complex problems. Just like folks who say I can lose weight by eating more bacon and drinking less OJ, I tend to raise an eyebrow. Maybe its just my training as a student of political history, but I have yet to see an example ANYWHERE where a group of people were competant enough to pull this kind of thing off, much less do it in secret. For Gods sake, the PRESIDENT of the US was impeached because he couldn't keep a blow job under wraps. This same president couldn't, with all the favors owed and done, get his wife to beat an upstart nobody for the nomination. Why? Because she screwed up! This is the course of history. It is not written by elegant plots, but rather by blunders, happenstance and people making it up as they go along. I'm not an Obama fan boy, I'm a libertarian, but every ounce of instinct, every bit of training, and every hour I've spent studying political history tells me that conspiricacy theories, while satisfying because they make "sense", are too neat by half. They just don't fit the historical record. We may very well wind up off a cliff, but it won't be by design, just by shortsighted incompetance.
