Hitler earned his stripes too, didn't make him any less of a piece of worthless crap that deserved to get kicked in the nuts by a horse.

Rule one: Never use a Hitler analogy unless its appropriate, and it rarely is. Cambodia, Bosnia, Darfur, Ok. Otherwise not so much.
Rule two: I wasn't there. I have no idea whether you were or not. What I do know, is that not being there I need to be quiet and listen when people who have seen more of the ugly side than I have speak. Doesn't mean I need to agree, just that they're owed respect whether or not I agree with what they're saying. Because when a vet says a war is a bad idea, he has a lot more credibility than the draft dodging armchair warriors, who traffic in cheap patriotism and flag waving jingoism (and yes I'm talking about Dick Cheney).
When I defended Murtha, I had forgotten about ABSCAM. That is enough to disqualify the man. I should have researched before posting, and for that I aplogize. However, it is possible to support the troops and hate the war. Support our troops, bring them home from a war that should never have been fought.

Hitler was an appropriate analogy, it was about a guy who earned his stripes in the military but still was not someone who made any useful contribution to supporting the troops.

I didn't indicate in any way that Murtha was a homicidal maniac. I assert that one man's impression of war is insignificant to the greater good.

I am of the same opinion as J. Robert Oppenheimer, that the voice of one should not have more influence over policy than any other. And as the man said this to the scientists who were having doubts about building the atomic bomb he stuck to his guns and continued the project.

Murtha's service does not give him a special voice that is above all others. I served my country too and while I appreciate his service, his is no more or less important than mine.

All men say that wars should not be fought, but what happens when not fighting the war is killing more people than fighting it would? Or how about this "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."

At what point are we as good men supposed to say "This only means people located within our geographical borders"? I for one am sickened by people who think that this universal equality does not apply to people in Iraq, Iran, or Sudan. It is a betrayal of the Founding Fathers and the basis of this country to avoid a fight and allow others to live in chains.

Iron Cross for bravery, Promoted from Private to Corporal, gassed twice. Ole Adolph would have been a better guy to have at your side than that glory hound Kerry, who, according to the "Swift Boat" guys who were there did not "EARN" his medals.
Also, FQ, I missed it the first time I read your first post, but the thing about GW Bush skipping out on Guard was proven to be untrue and the producer of the News show that "broke it" was fired.

Yes, while AH got medals and promoted, he also sent millions of German soldiers into Russia...that negates just about every military accomplishment he may have had.  ;)

He was an  commended Enlisted combat soldier, he just sucked as a commander/strategist.
If we had not prop up  Stalin with Lend lease materiel the outcome might have been quite different.
OK, far enough off topic, lets get back to flaming the slimesucking traitor to the Marine Corps Brotherhood.

We don't do SOS lists here. The exception being poor tumblebug who brought it on himself. Even a day later, (slowly I turn...). ;D
They're in poor taste and just fuel the anti's. Besides why bother when there's paint ball and now, very cool, marking soft air. This means that the Zuit Shooters can have much more realistic capers and the reenactment of the Millers crossing Danny Boy scene, complete with FA tommyguns is a possibility.
