I was told that Glock will be making .380's at Smyrna, Georgia and not from Austria in the not so distant future. Currently they are only available in the European Market and for Government and Law Enforcement in the United States. Only time will tell.

The word on the street is that the two guys who run Diamondback Arms are both former Kel-Tec guys.

Also, the guy on another forum who owns the gun and posted the photos I showed you says that the quality seems to be on par with Glock and/or Kahr

Okay, I'm a little late picking up on this.    Just saw one at the dealer and I think I must have.

Saw this thread on Glocktalk.  Anyone else got some new info?

Seen them starting to trickle into dealers hands, friend even bought one and enjoys it, IMHO, the texture on the grip was too rough, and it seemed "blocky" for a pocket pistol.

Others mileage may vary.  Competition is a good thing, in what's left of this economy.
Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."

Thanks, ericire12, I read most of the KTOG thread.

I am in the market for a very light .380 and they all, according to reviews has some problem or 'nother.

Having let the passion of the moment pass, I think I'll pass on Diamondback for the time being.   Too new, too much likelyhood of it not being around.   I'll drop back to my first choice the Taurus.

I looked at the web site because I'm (as I always am when it gets stupidly hot in Fl.) idly in the market for something lighter than a Glock. The gun looks nice, but $430? Here's a clue to Diamond back. If you are a new, no name company, sell your stuff cheap. That's what has fueled kel-tec and Charter Arms. No one heard of them, but we said "$250? what the hell, I'll try it." On the other hand, $430, I think I'll pass and wait for other guys to try it. Oh, and is that a Ruger LCP on sale for $300?"? ::)

Saw one at a gun show today.  Didn't do a full check but at first inspection quality seems OK (to my old eyes)!  Wouldn't pay $400+ for any .380!
