I'm in a rural area about 5 miles outside a small town just large enough for a Wal Mart and a McDonalds (liked it better when it was smaller). I'm in a small subdivision out on a lake and will be staying at home watching with neighbors and watching some neighbors. Not having any experience in your craft, what do you think about the planned and orderly use of suppressors for home defense? I've got one in 44 mag that throws 350 grains subsonic at 1/2 the noise of a pellet gun...it's quiter than the garden variety 308 and nearly twice as heavy and makes bigger holes.
I've read some stuff about 22 suppressors being used prior to entry, even picked up some tips to isolate my barrel from receiver from some operators..which did make it quieter.
