Ok, now I'm getting scared. I've lost count on how many multiple shootings have occurred in the last month or so...this one happened last nite in California...

TEMECULA, Calif. – A gunman opened fire at a remote Korean Christian retreat center Tuesday night, leaving one person dead and at least three people injured, authorities said.

Authorities were first called to the rural area about 7 p.m. after receiving reports about a man shooting his wife, California Highway Patrol spokesman Mario Lopez said.

But investigators were still trying to learn the circumstances of the shootings, and were hindered by a language barrier in trying to sort out the facts, Riverside County Sheriff's spokesman Dennis Gutierrez said.

"We have some nuns that are very distraught," he said.

The name and age of the suspected shooter was not released and the identity of the dead victim were being withheld until relatives were notified.

At least two of the victims were critically injured. The gunman was also believed to be among the wounded at the Kkottongnae Retreat Camp, located in Temecula about 85 miles southeast of Los Angeles.

Developing Story: LMPD officer, 3 others shot in Okolona

(WHAS11/AP)-- A veteran Louisville Metro Police officer and three others were shot in Okolona early Wednesday morning after a naked man managed to gain control of the officer's gun.

The female officer was responding to a domestic call in the 5200 block of Ronwood Drive in around 8:00 Wednesday morning.

LMPD Chief Robert White says the officer was shot twice in the leg with her own weapon after an altercation with the suspect.

The officer had served on the force for 15 years.

White says when the officer arrived at the scene, a naked man came out of the house and refused to obey her commands.

Eyewitness Larry Gaus said the officer was standing beside her car when the naked man approached her and the officer ordered the suspect to stay back.

Gaus said the man began to chase the officer around her patrol car.

Police say the officer unsuccessfully tried to use a Taser, then fired her gun.

The Chief said a struggle ensued and the man gained control of the officer’s weapon and shot her.

"The man had the intention of going after the officer," Gaus said.

A neighbor and the suspect's girlfriend were also shot. Police say their injuries don’t appear to be life-threatening.

The officer and the three others who were shot were transported to University Hospital.

In the desert cars being burned and run off cliffs because people cant pay . Wild and crazy stuff. I'm glad I live out and away from any city. Distraught people killing loved ones and disturbed people killing anyone .

We need to have the same standards for both men and women.
