Dynamic Research Technologies   {  DRT  }

What do you think of this ammo? Will this ammo work like they say on there web sight? Will it stop an intruder without passing through into other rooms in the house?

I saw a clip of the .mil version on futureweapons or some such cool show, it would act like armor piercing in inanimate object and would powder only when it hit organic matter or gel.  :o

I would think it would act like ball when going through drywall.  So the original rule still applies: DON'T MISS.
"Why are you carrying a pistol?  Expecting trouble?"

"No Maam.  If I was expecting trouble, I'd have a rifle."

Here is a website that did some tests with Extreme Shock Ammo. This might help you make a decision.

The Box of Truth info was very interesting.  At the risk of hijacking this thread but expanding our knowledge of speciality defense ammo, how about RBCD ammo?

Here is the link.  It is also exspensive and I while I have some in my possession, 9mm and 38 spec for my J frame, I have yet to shoot it.  It reportedly has high propensity for heavy tissue damage with little if any over penetration.  Light weight, high velocity, high energy.

Anyone with any experience with this RBCD ammo?

Well, if you're inclined to believe the Box O' Truth, then they have the answer for you.

I'm not entirely convince that water jugs, even with a special equation for ballastics gel, can replace actual ballistics gelatin testing. I realize they must have a tiny buget and BG is expensive and difficult to work with, but I'd rather rely on BG info over water jug testing for my personal defense needs.

That being said, I have no ability to test terminal performance for myself, so I'd rather have water jug testing from an unbiased source (so it would seem) then factory claims of BG testing I can't verify.

I believe the original question was about DRT ammo, and to that, there should be some video footage from this year's SHOT show in Orlando where they were doing demos on steel plates from about 10 yds to point blank range.  It was pretty impressive with the steel.  They didn't do a show and tell, to my knowledge, with drywall or other less-than-steel-dense materials.

Frangible ammo works as advertised, unless your opponent is shooting at you from behind a barricade, a wall, a door, or car windshield.  Don't always assume the gunfight you get into will be like the one you think it will be.  Bad guys have a nasty habit of doing the unexpected.
