I think the biggest problem in forums that operate in that regard is they wind up driving off all of the really knowledgeable posters, and more or less end up with a mutual admiration society that becomes all but worthless except for stroking their own egos.  Bill T.

BINGO!   Then there are the ones that can afford anything and flaunt it. Also drove off are the low count posters with a different point of view and new stories or new information.

Like Tom Bogan said, this one forum has it all.....it's the variety of experiences, tied together by mutual likes that makes DRTV different than many other forums. You can go from talking about what the best fight-stopping round is one minute, and what the best BBQ recipe is in the next.
Respectful and respectable folks with a wide range of knowledge, from worldly to spiritual and anywhere in between. It's all pretty much covered here.

What's not to like?

Why not stay once you get here?  ;)
Amen to that. Even though a few elbows get thrown, its generally not personal, and tends to generate not just heat, but light. I've learned from the political (and yes even spiritual) debates (hell, even Tom has a point now and then) and I've sure learned a lot about guns, music and mixed drinks. The point about respectable folks is key too. I decided to clean out the safe, and sell a few guns I don't shoot too often. I have had no problem sending them to a member of this board on approval to shoot and see if they like it and return it if they don't. That's not an offer I would make on most gun forums. Its just that I think that here, folks feel free to be themselves, and you get a sense of someone as a result. This is, unfortunatley, a pretty unique place. The cool thing though, is that its not the moderators that make it so. It tends to be self policing. As a Libertarian, this makes me happy.

~  Resurrecting an Old Thread ~

After seeing for a few times now people kind of jumping on some of the NOOB's around maybe it should be remembered.

The political climate and other crap in general has maybe made people a little testier than most times and I wanted to remind everyone we are all here for the same cause.  No matter what your religious belief or your political stance is.  I don't claim to be Rep or Dem.  I just want someone in the position to do something right for once.  I don't know why (and I'm sure that FQ or TB will explain) we need parties to start with now.  There are Rep jumping to the Dem side  Dems are jumping Rep mostly on gun issues so why do we need REP and DEM?  Just be an elected official and do a good job.

So in summation.  We are all here for Life Liberty and the pursuit of kicking someones ass when it needs it.

Thanks for listening

Religion, Politics, Glock, and 45 versus 9MM are always the best ways to start fights  ;D
Just need to keep it in perspective  ;D

Dang-it, once again I am forced to agree with FQ13.  This has got to stop FQ, or we'll end up having drinks and comparing Glocks, or sumpum'

“I’ve lived the literal meaning of the ‘land of the free’ and ‘home of the brave.’ It’s not corny for me. I feel it in my heart. I feel it in my chest. Even at a ball game, when someone talks during the anthem or doesn’t take off his hat, it pisses me off. I’m not one to be quiet about it, either.”  Chris Kyle
