The only forum I have stoped posting in is CALGUNS.net  some of the guys there are real SOB and don't think you are wroth a damn unles you have a CCW and spend every waking momment fluanting it.  Thats not to say there are not alot of nice guys there, and there is a bunch of good info.  its just brutal over there... more so if you ask a question that has already been answered.

None of the other "hobby" based forums I vist are like that.  Infact most are really great people.  Take the kitten for example, a couple drove from anaheim to sacramento to pick him up( droping him off at thier hotel in the morning) Thats atleast 450 miles each way.   All this from a boating site.

It seems that people here want to pitch in. Especially, when the questions seem like they might be basic. Everybody has their "2 cents" and they still have fun talking about a favorite hobby. I think we all were a little sick when the forum went down for a while.

I don't think that I've ever actually registered for another forum. I'd read some, but was never convinced that I needed to be a part of them. I read posts here occasionally before joining too. It's kind of like a wacky distant family. You kind of get a sense of some members' personalities from their posts.

Does the HB in "HBMan" stand for Huntington Beach? If so, we're just about neighbors.

I have been amazed that in a year and a half on here I have not seen anyone "ripped" for their choice of gun or ammo.  Everyone talks about their favorites or preferences, we will point out issues others have had with a given make or model as a word of caution, but no belittling of choice ... unless it comes to Glock  ;)

The Three M's also do a very good job of reigning us back in, without censoring, when we get carried away.  Does anyone remember the frustration with a major manufacturer that got carried away?  I don't think it took more than a couple days for cooler heads to get us back to our semi-mature mode.

Speaking of semi-mature, has anyone seen any good sales on Clips lately ...  ;D

I'll jump in here too. Except for the difference between magazine and clip, there never seems to be too much contention on this forum (although I do remember jumping down people's e-throat about something here or there).

It's a good gang with good information and a real appreciation for the gun culture.

This is not an elitist forum, it's the elite-est forum.  :D

I go look around other places but rarely see anything interesting enough or more INFORMATIVE enough to bother. DRTV has everything pretty much.

We all appreciate what the 3 Ms do to keep this place as cool as it is, and when I think about the anti folks spying on us, I'm proud to be a part of what they're reading because they're seeing the real America.

Thanks to all of the members who really try to keep it this cool too. I certainly appreciate it.

Perhaps because this forum isn't dedicated to one particular type of shooting or firearm is why you don't find "forum nazi's" here.  Even though this forum is centered around MB's video productions we even occasionally mention those other shows....what's their names?

I'm registered on many other shooting boards, including several of the air gun forums.  But I don't read them with any regularity.  Primarily they are a resource when I have a particular question about that type of gun.   RFC for rimfire questions.  The Savage board for Savage questions, Walther for Walthers, S&W for..........etc.

Perhaps one of the more interesting boards that has a truly worldwide participation is Accurate Reloading.   The name belies it's content as it has sub-groups for almost every topic from African big game to air guns.  You have to be thoughtful about questions because you're posting to an audience that is not centered in the US.   And responses sometimes open your eyes as to equipment and techniques that aren't common to the US.

OH and they have one whole group dedicated to cats....big and little.
