What's the problem? Islam is a beautiful and peaceful religion, just ask the dudes that pulled off 9/11, oh that's right they are no longer with us.
Rights are like muscles, when they are not exercised they atrophy.

think they'll pass a 'tora, tora, tora' day? we already observe dec. 7th, but what would they think if someone proposed a day for 'celebrating' the Japanese attack on Hawaii? probably wouldn't go over too well. so why are we celebrating a religion that wants to kill us all?

Well said. Tolerate, yes. Be respectful towards, yes. Celebrate, hell no! Good manners is one thing, stupidity is another.

"Congress shall make..."  didn't say anything about the Hawaiian legislature. Does that mean that NJ can celebrate "Roman Catholic Day" or maybe "Jewish Day"?  Man....propose THAT and see how much s*** hits the fan!

Yeah, but its a little more complicated. The standard is "an unreasonable entanglement with religion" or something very close to those words. Basically, if the state forces you to say, or listen to, a government approved prayer, or spends your tax dollars on  relgious instruction, its a problem. If it passes a "We Like (choose your religion) Day, not so much as there is no coercion. This a slippery determination, but the standard is the "Rudolph Test" (no I'm not making that up). The deal is the state can't pay for a nativity scene in front of the courthouse. If however, they stick Rudolph, Frosty and a Menorah, next to it and call it a winter holiday display, its kosher. (I don't make the rules, I just report them).

Well now they done it,...

We'll have to have Ha're Khrishna Day, Moonies Day, Wiccan Day, Dope Smokin, Tree Huggin, Homosexual Day,

Rainbow Coalition Day,..... Etc,....etc,.....etc,......

Something in the water over there?
Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."

"Dope Smokin, Tree Huggin, Homosexual Day,"

The 3 don't necessarily go together, I know several dope smoking loggers.
