Never forget, her last words may have been " I can get the car, the furniture, and 1/2 your pay". Probably not in this case, but when a guy kills the mother of his kids the thought ALWAYS passes through my mind.

There but for the grace of God, or something like that?
I love waking up every morning knowing that Donald Trump is President!!

I don't know him well enough to attribute a reason for what he did - but I remember talking to him about 'going for' a Corrections Officer position. Told him he needed to remember he would be locking himself voluntarily in prison for prolonged periods of time, not everyone's cup of tea.

He did claim to be a 'pagan' when I worked with him, celebrating solstices, equinoxes, etc.  Turns out from talking to another guard at the prison, he had recently taken to 'serious study' of the Qur'an and was spouting quotes and philosophies...  the prison went into lock down shortly after they found out what had happened: some already feared from his recent behaviors he had planned something bigger and the prison may have been a target.
Anti: I think some of you gentleman would choose to apply a gun shaped remedy to any problem or potential problem that presented itself? Your reverance (sic) for firearms is maintained with an almost religious zeal. The mind boggles! it really does...

Me: Naw, we just apply a gun-shaped remedy to those extreme life threatening situations that call for it. All the less urgent problems we're willing to discuss.

Hey, Tombogan. That hate and anger is killing YOU. Posting you wonder if her words set him off to kill his own child? Really? Are there any words (or child support robberies) that can "set off" someone to kill their own child?
I paid child support 16 years. I was severely injured and payed less than required for three years. I went to court and I continued to pay until arrears were all paid. After that, I was taken back to court because they said they had no record of my first payment (16 years before-paid to my ex as per court order before pay garnishment automatically began) and because of the now paid off arrears I owed 7% interest for 16 years... $22,000 dollars. I wouldn't doubt I'll be called back to Texas court after THAT is paid off at $550 month for the next reason I keep paying. My son is 24. I've paid 20% of my pay for 22 years. Yet, I am as calm as a gentle shower. I went through the anger at the injustice and ended up suicidal. I was lucky enough to get help. With lots of therapy I learned what those folks at AA learn. The whole serenity prayer thing.  I'm sure your ex would love ruining your life, health and future. You don't need to let it happen. You obviously have avoided killing her (I KNOW, and blowing up the court, judges, etc...) and ruining your life and your child's. I hope you get help and learn to let it stop poisoning you. By the way, I met my son when he was 20 for the first time since he was 2. (Yes, I had visitation. No, the court won't jail her, stop her checks, or do anything other than tell her she MUST allow them when she doesn't/didn't.) He is a great son and we are starting a relationship. If you are getting to see your kid or talk to them, then you are actually LUCKY. It can be a whole lot worse. Good luck.

Coincidence. I used to work night crew with a guy in a grocery store. He went off to become a corrections officer. One day after a softball game with the other officer's he got all drunk and suicidal over a fight with his girl, and did a suicide by SWAT. He was a good guy before that. We used to hang out, but lost contact when he moved off to where the prison was.

I like to read the Spencer books and all from that writer.  He said in one book (about working as a corrections officer), "They all in prison (guards and inmates)- some just go home at night.  I suppose thinking prison might screw you up wouldn't be too far off the mark.  (I do mean "might", not trying to condemn or belittle corrections officers.)

Yep, I do know your situation, I'm just done crying in my beer over the same crap.  :)
Enjoy the salty beer!
Perhaps I should have said any psycho who thinks maybe this guy's ex said something that made her and the child deserve it needs to grow up and stop crying over spilt milk. Better? You need mental health help. Let's hope you get it before shooting someplace up and making the sane gun owners look bad. Heh, he'll be out of prison before they stop taking yur money, wah, wah! I guess you wish you had the nads to shoot your old lady and kid, right? You don't sound tough, just childish. Do you see a single MAN here agreeing with you or thinking you're a tough guy? No MAN does. I'm man enough to pay more than what I owe without the tears and self-pity. Stuff that.
PS: I'm not Young, Urban, but I am a Professional since a work injury required a new career and they pay best. Thanks, though. I FEEL young!  ;D
