As I read this, the customers must have followed her out of the store. It sounds like she had reason to be fearful and had every right to draw on a hostile group of people.
I know it's outrageous to think the LSM would twist a story to portray legitimate self defense in a negative light, especially in a Constitution loving State like Ca.

She did not seem to have any justifiable reason to pull a gun.
This was a war of words, and it looks to me like
the woman escalated things by bring the gun into play when there was no threat of death or serious bodily harm.
She was already at her car, and all she needed to do if she felt uncomfortable was simply drive away.
