Congrats TW. I carry my G21 SF .45 ACP religiously. Just sold my Smith and Wesson M&P 9c to get either a Glock 30 or a Glock 35. This will be my seventh Glock I will have purchased. Owned a couple of Glock 17's, on my second G22, though I now have the RFT, G24 .40 Smith and Wesson (Over six inch barrel), and my Glock 21 SF.

I have owned 3 Smith and Wesson's (6906 and MP9), a Beretta, a Taurus, EAA, Ruger, Jiminez (Avoid at all cost), Skyy (Same as the Jiminez), Sig Sauer. I always find myself coming back to a Glock. They are just that dependable and accurate to me.

Thank you Ping & dj454, didn't know the 10mm upper and mags would work,( closet 10mm fan,) I didn't have a chance to test drive it today, domestic agenda, and the wife took priority,  , but she didn't throw me out, got the smile and rolling of eyes response, and I look forward to shooting it very very soon.

You are welcome. With the exception of my Glock 24, my Glock 21 SF is my second most accurate Glock. Got some trigger time at the range Friday. Shot 50 rounds. Most stayed in the 8, 9 and 10 mark at 20 yards. As for the cavity cover, I have to find one to fit the Small Frame grip. I use Glockmeister covers on all my other glocks. I also plan on putting adjustable rear sights on all my Glocks.

Congratulations. I love my M&P as well but I still have my Glock 20 and I loove it as well. The M&P is a little more refined but the Glock functions flawlessly. I hope you enjoy. Find a Glock 20 upper and mags and you can enjoy the wonderful 10mm as well.

Aren't some of the other innards different? Like the ejector.

Sorry FQ13, the .45 is different, it has conventional rifling, not the polygonal style, my M21 has digested at least 8k of 185 swc lead bullets. No problem reloading the spent brass either, my .45 acp's run from smith revolvers, 1911's with factory and match barrels, and my glock, but they all get fed the same diet. Lead, with a few JHP  thrown in for good measure. Unless it is a bullseye match, they all get fed mixed brass too. For a real tournament like a regional or state championship, I will use all same lot, brass.

I know the manual says NO RELOADS, if the loads are safe for anything else, they are safe for a glock, now as far as lead, I do load it for my other glocks, but clean much more often, it builds up pretty fast in the polygonal rifling. Especially .40 However I don't load lead for the 10mm, as only gets hunting ( powerful ) loads.

A friend and I pulled a new 21SF off the shelf at the range and it had the polygonal rifling in the octagonal configuration. Glock's horrible site appears to show the same.

Maybe this is similar to my HK USP. All of heir newer guns have the polygonal rifling, but I bought my USP when they first came out and I have conventional rifling.

 I could be wrong, but I think HK pioneered the use of Polygonal rifling in MODERN firearms. (back in the early days they tried all sorts of weird sh!t including square and cruciform bullets) that is now used in tank main guns and called "rifled smooth bore" Because they have no lands and grooves and therefore technically are smooth bores, also while a conventional barrel has to be drilled, bored, and then rifled, a polygonal bore can be hammer forged in 1 single operation. I do not know that it is any better or worse than cut rifling but it is considerably faster and less expensive to produce.

No you have to change the whole upper. You can take a Glock 20 slide and barrel and install it on a Glock 21 and vice versa. I tried it with my friend Glock 21. You can occasionally find slide and barrel assemblies on gun broker. I have been looking for a 21 upper and mags for my 20. The ejector is the same part for either one. If you do get a 10mm upper for your 21 I recommend changing the recoil spring/guide rod assembly. The 20 and 21 use the same spring but it is not strong enough for hot 10mm loads. I switched to the Wolf 22 lb and stainless guide rod. I have a stock spring to use if I want to shoot light loads. The 22 lb spring really helped in brass recovery. It used to send brass 20-30 feet. Now 8-10 feet with my hottest loads. Have fun.

I sold my hk usp after I got my glock 23, I liked it that much. I added  the tritium-fiber optic night sights and havent looked back on this gun.
